That’s right baby! This is an East Coast (of Mexico – of course) style, single elimination tournament with twelve drivers contributing $100 each – and the final round winner is driving away with all the cash. While $1200 may not seem like a bunch of money to you; there are some people (myself included) that consider that a pretty good night’s fun (it ain’t work).
One of the best things about having a cash-pool is that the competitors have to exit their vehicles and come together for a brief period. This usually results in a lot of trash talking and some general flexing and posturing before the real action begins. This just makes a hot night of dig racing a bit more interesting.
Let’s line ‘em up. First, we have the IWALKU Cadillac CTS-V with an upgraded crankshaft pulley and camshaft (running pump gas mixed with methanol) lining up against a pretty red 1968 Chevrolet Camaro with an LS engine and nitrous. In a tight contest, the muscle car takes the stripe and sits the Caddy down. In the second race there’s the Blue Bully Corvette Z06 with high performance cylinder heads, camshaft, and intake going against a twin turbocharged Dodge Charger with nitrous. Them must be some wee-baby turbos because the ‘Vette comes out on top by a stretch. In the third race we have a Chevrolet S10 pickup with a small block V8 and nitrous battling a Corvette Grand Sport with a Vortech YSI supercharger. The S10 gets the hole shot and never looks back; winning handily.
There’s a load of other races to be seen but you gotta check them out for yourself.
NOTE: We neither condone nor encourage racing on public streets.
