10-Second All Motor Mustang GT – Street Hits

April 6th, 2021

We’re headed back to the Sunshine State tonight where we’ll meet up with Austin Rodriquez and his 2018 Ford Mustang GT at Palm Beach Dyno. Austin has posted a best elapsed time of 10.1-seconds @ 136 mph in the quarter-mile, but tonight he will be taking it to the street for some roll racing hits against a nitrous Chevrolet C5 Corvette and a Nissan GT-R with full bolt-ons running E85 fuel. This stunning Mustang GT has undergone some significant mods, but Austin is yet to include ant type of power-adder. That’s right – no nitrous, no blower and no turbocharger. Read More

Dream Crusher Corvette Terrorizes Ice Cream Cruise

August 26th, 2020

Eric and his menacing Corvette showed up at the Ice Cream Cruise (I-29 Dragway, Iowa) to win races and chew bubble gum. Turns out that Eric (Crazy Legs) was all out of bubble gum. With tons of heavy hitters on hand, he will have his work cut out for him. Our focus car – a C5 Chevrolet Corvette – has been redesigned since last season. Gone is the cumbersome 6.0-liter truck motor and a lightweight (all-aluminum) 7.0-liter engine, built by Mike Lough Racing Engines, takes its place. A monstrous crankshaft driven ProCharger supplies the forced air induction and shifting duties Read More

Turbo Silverado vs. Supercharged Mustang – Street Hits

January 9th, 2019

Roll racing is frowned upon by some. Usually those who haven’t tried it. My heart will always be in the dig, but there is something exhilarating about hitting the interstate for some high-speed shenanigans. Boosted vehicles are ideal for roll racing because they have ample opportunity to spool-up before the racing begins at 40, 50, or 60 mph. From there, it’s pure power through 140 or 150 mph – what’s not to love? This clip features street (roll) racing between a diverse group of vehicles. There’s a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck with a 5.3-liter engine and Garrett S480 turbocharger. Read More

South of the Border Street Battle

May 26th, 2016

This is some insane roll racing street action from down “Old Mexico” way. The action begins at 60 mph and heats way up from there. The feature car of this short clip is a stout twin turbocharged Mustang Cobra. The Snake takes on a turbocharged C5 Corvette and a 750whp Mitsubishi Evolution. Get an eyeful for yourself. The SillyBilly Terminator Cobra is equipped with a 281-cubic-inch engine and a pair of turbochargers “turned about half-way up.” Horsepower output is unknown but, as you can see from the video, it’s pretty substantial. The C5 ‘Vette is powered by a 408-cubic-inch small block Read More

Lights Out Champion C5 Corvette

March 12th, 2016

This clip lets you take a run through each individual round of the Lights Out 7 Event in South Georgia as Ken Berry and the crew of the baddest ride in the Radial Tire class go against such competitors as Daniel Pharris in his 102mm twin-turbo Mustang, Stevie ‘Fast’ Jackson in his supercharged Fox Body, and a handful of other elite level racers. Ken promises that they’ll “give it everything they have and borrow some more from the neighbors.” This Vette is well equipped with a ProLine 487-cubic-inch small block, a brand new set of Gen 2 Precision 98-millimeter turbochargers, Read More

Street Racing: Import VS. Domestic

July 3rd, 2015

There is something extra-thrilling about racing at night. As the sun fades and the moon makes its appearance, ambient temperatures ease down and racing conditions enter the realm of perfection. This video documents just such a street race, as a potent all-wheel drive import supercar clashes with a hard charging all-American rear-wheel drive muscle car. Let’s begin with the C5 Corvette. It is equipped with a specially built 418-cubic-inch V8 racing engine. In front of that sits a single Precision 8891 turbocharger, behind it a 6-speed manual transmission with a Monster Lt1-R clutch. Output is estimated loosely at 1,100+HP. The Read More

Street Racing: Corvette Chaos

July 1st, 2015

Who brings their car to a street race on a trailer? Someone who has come from one state away to take your cookies – that’s who. This video brings you a couple of highly modified late model (a 2001 and a 2009 model) Corvettes as they square off on the streets in an epic battle of supercharger versus nitrous. The “out-of-towner” sports a 2009 Corvette Z06 with a built 408-cubic-inch LSX engine, a YSI Vortech supercharger set at 18psi, and an EFI 128 tuner. It is running E98 fuel and riding on Mickey Thompson E/T rubber wrapped around 15-inch Weld Read More
