Home Built 1000HP Turbo Chevy Silverado

January 12th, 2024

This video opens after Spencer has been hard at work pulling the engine out of his short bed, regular cab Chevrolet Silverado half-ton pickup. What he has in store for this two-wheel drive truck should strike fear in the hearts of his fellow street racers.

The fun begins as Spence and his grandad are stuffing the freshly built 370 cubic-inch (6.0-liter) LS motor back into the Silverado. The engine has a forged rotating assembly (crankshaft, connecting rods and aluminum pistons) with ARP hardware. The cylinder heads are stock with square intake ports. A Holley Hi-Ram intake manifold (102mm throttle opening) will deliver air to the engine. It also has a custom ground turbo thumpstick (camshaft). Engine block prep was done by Rick’s Machine Shop.

After a reasonable break-in period, the stock exhaust manifolds are torn off and replaced with a set of turbo headers from the Huron Speed T6 turbo kit. This kit features tubular stainless-steel headers and an a/c relocation kit for ease of installation. Once the turbo kit and the intercooler are installed, it’s time for a test drive. It runs great!

Can’t wait to see the truck on the dyno, soon.
