Turbo Chevy Silverado vs. Twin Turbo Genesis G70 – This vs. That

May 19th, 2022

In this installment, we have an unlikely pairing between a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2021 Genesis G70 sedan. These two vehicles will be competing in a series of drag races on a closed course in an undisclosed location. Now, let’s check out the rides.

The pickup is a rear-wheel drive Silverado with a Thompson Racing engine (370 cubic-inch) and a massive turbo. It’s running a 4-speed automatic transmission (4L80E) and it weighs 4,300-pounds. Whoa! That’s a heavy Cowboy Cadillac. Despite the extra girth, this truck has turned a 10-second quarter-mile (maybe faster). It is estimated to have a maximum output potential of 850hp.

In the other lane, the all-wheel drive Genesis G70 is a luxury sedan with all the factory amenities intact. It is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine that can churn out 590hp. It tips the scale at 4,000-pounds and has an 8-speed automatic transmission. This tuned G70 is an 11-second quarter-mile car.

So, let’s get these guys on the asphalt and make some smoke roll off those tires.
