Domestic Dispute – Camaro SS vs. Charger Hellcat Street Hits

February 15th, 2024

These two homegrown heavies are all set to knuckle-up and get down on the streets (of Mexico). The phrase of the day is roll racing and the action will jump-off at 60 mph. The Hell kitty has traction issues at lower speeds. That’s what I call a good problem.

The Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE is a naturally aspirated car. Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 that can produce 455hp in factory condition, the Camaro SS is track oriented (as opposed to drag oriented). Nevertheless, with the right mods it can go plenty fast in a straight line. Upgrades to this Chevy include a set of exhaust headers, ported cylinder heads and an MSD Atomic Airforce intake manifold. This baby eats asphalt like a pig eats corn.

In the opposite lane is the Dodge Charger Hellcat. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, the Charger Hellcat is one of the most capable sedans ever produced. In stock trim the Hellcat is capable of making 717hp. This one lists a cold air intake as its sole modification.

The Camaro gets a bit nervous and blows the first hit when he jumps early. The next hit should be a clean start and we will see who is the cock-of-the-walk.
