2009 Cadillac CTS-V burnout video

June 10th, 2008

The upcoming 2009 Cadillac CTS-V powered by the tuned down ZR1 motor producing 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque was caught on video at the GM testing grounds doing some nice long burnouts.

The new CTS-V will be available in both automatic and manual transmissions with an estimated top speed of 191 MPH using the manual transmission. This new Cadillac is going to be quite a performer on the drag strip and the roadcourse. During testing, GM has already recorded a lap time of 7 minutes and 29 seconds around Germany’s famous Nurburgring test track, the quickest recorded time for a 4 door sedan. GM is also estimating that this 4 door rocket will produce a 12 flat 1/4 mile with a 0-60 time of just under 4 seconds. We think that is a rather conservative estimate given the power to weight ratio for the car.

MSRP information is just a few weeks away, it should be interesting to see how this tire smoker is priced. Even more interesting will be the aftermarket options for this car. How easily will tuners be able to up the boost and tune the car to the 620 HP that the LS9 motor was originally spec’d for? Check out the video below from Streetfire.net and Autoblog:
