Gassers At 131 Dragway In The '60s
This is an updated version of my video "Drag Racing In The '60s part 3". I made that video about three years ago and since then I have upgraded my photo and video editing software. I have been able to clean up the photos and video a bit and I added sound to the movies that I extracted from some recent video I took at the drags. I thought it would be fun to add some sound to the old 8mm movies. I also made it widescreen. The soundtrack is me jammin' on some Booker T and the MGs and CCR.
Jim and Judy Skinner's 1955 Ford Thunderbird
After years of hard work, the T-bird lives again! This is a Friday night test and tune session at US131 Dragway to shake down the new car and obtain a Competition drag racing lisence. Powered by a small block ford and C4 trans. Special thanks to Rocky at Troxell Race Cars. If you need fabrication work, don't be a blockhead........call Troxell Race Cars!
Martin US131 Dragway, From The Beginning
The first 8 minutes of this video are from an 8MM movie that was given to me by my old racin' buddy Dennis White. He was given the film by his friend, Joe McNett, who's late father, Marv, took the movies in 1962-'63. Marv's 'dark blue '56 Ford can be seen at 1;42. Although the film was in very poor condition, I felt that, for historical purposes, it should be shared. I have never seen any film from the track from the first years that it was in operation, although some may exist. From the 8 minute mark until the finish are photos and movies that I took myself over the years 1966 to the present. A special thanks to Jim Luikens for providing the rare photo of Arnie Beswicks '63 Pontiac Tempest Wagon, "The Grocery Getter", when it was sponsored by Seltzer Pontiac.

Drag Racings In The '60s Part Two
The pits were full of wild, Nitro burning Funny Cars at US 131 Dragway in Martin, MI in the late '60s and I was there with my camera.
