Found a bar inside the door that needs to be in the up position. Found some posts on various forums where people used springs to fix the problems. Other paid hundreds of dollars to fix. I bought a spring at Ace hardware for a $2 fix.

98 Ford Explorer Door Won't Open Part 1
Just showing the problem I was having with my '98 Ford Explorer. A couple weeks ago the door handle just stopped working on the driver door. All tension was lost in the handle. I couldn't use the remote to open. The remote would open all other doors. Sounded as if it wanted to open but just couldn't. I wasn't able to open from the inside either. I had to flip the door lock back and forth while pulling on the door lock pull and finally lucked out. I got the door open and pulled the panel off using a screw driver. Later I found you could get a door pull at Autozone for $9.99 probably would have been a lot easier.

ford super duty rear door wont open part 1 of 3
This is a 99 ford 250 superduty with the suicide doors. Should be the same up to 2004 for the 350, 450, and 550. The cable sheath ends break easy. The top cable broke in both doors within a week of each other. Each one cost about $180. That is $720 to fix all the cables. I fixed each one for about $5 each. This video is only for the upper cable. If you like this, go to bradleyusa.com and donate. Thanks.
I bet they are bad about breaking during a wreck. Can't imagine how bad people probably freak out when they are trying to get their small child out of the back just after a bad wreck and the doors won't open. Sounds like a need for a safety recall!!!

My car locked me out.
So my central locks seem to have failed. The drivers side doors open only from the inside, and the lock on the passenger side door does not work with the key. Keys in hand, I had to break into my car this morning, I locked myself out of my car, with my keys out of the car, which was the fortunate part becasue I was able to unlock the trunk, and grab a zip tie, a screwdriver, and a pair of pliers from my on the road tool/repair it.

Ford Explorer Remote Not Locking Fix
In this Video I show how to fix a fairly common problem with the Ford Explorer. If you Remote/Key fob unlocks your truck, but does not lock the truck, this is most likely the problem. The splice from the factory get moisture in it, and it corrodes. This is a fairly simple fix. I would like to Thank the guys over at http://www.explorerforum.com with the threads explaining the problem. Hope this helps some people out. I know a lot of times a video helps out a lot more then pictures, and diagrams.
