BMW Ring Taxi - A Lap With Sabine Schmitz
This is a lap of the "Green Hell" with Sabine Schmitz on the 5th of
September 2010. It was great to have Sabine as our driver, and a huge
thanks to her and BMW RingTaxi for the thrill of being driven at high speed
on a track that takes many years to learn. We had so much fun, and highly
recommend it to anyone going to Germany, that likes the Nurburgring, and
isn't game enough to bring their own car, or hire a track day car. And we
can't help but congratulate Sabine for saying the line "I tell you
something, I could do that lap time in a van", which ultimately led to
Jeremy Clarkson pretty much being beaten around the 'ring by Sabine in a
diesel Ford Transit van. I hope to come back in a few years and do it
again! Worth flying from Australia for :)

Nordschleife Ring Taxi near crash
A full lap with the Ring taxi. Watch out for the Clio spinning in front of
the Taxi and me nearly hitting it about 10km's in to the lap.

This is the best race track in the world. The Nordschleife!
This is the one were every bike on the track gets in the way of the cars,
but to be fair it isn't a race, and the bikers are only there sight seeing
not to ride fast. This video is from 2007, BMW M5 vs Porsche 911 (the
passenger is a biker and has just been riding round the track, now he goes
in the Porsche, several times he says how 'incredible' the car is he even
points out how much the bikes slow the cars down drastically especially
after the bus, listen to him, the bikers think they are going fast!)
People can make excuses for the riders in this video, which is fine, but
at the end of the day it's a video about cars not bikes, and for those
saying it isn't Sabine, IT IS Sabine driving the BMW! it is the old M5 with
I meant, it's easier to ride a bike than drive a car, to learn at least.
Not to take anything away from the bike riders, it takes skill, lots of
skill and balls of course, or stupidity, which ever you like. No I wont
ride a bike at these kinds of speeds, I like being alive, yes I will drive
a car at these speeds, it feels safe, even if it isn't!

The BMW 330ci:
The BMW E46 330 ci was the highest end 3 series you could buy (that wasnt a
M car). The 330 sported a 3.0 Litre inline 6 (235 Hp) paired with a 5 speed
automatic transmission with steptronic or a 6 speed manual transmission.
There are a select few 330ci that have the smg transmission. The body
styles of the 330 were the coupe, convertible, and sedan. The optional
performance package stiffened up the suspension, lowered the car, added M
rims, and whited out signals and tail lights. The 330ci is said to go from
0-60 in 6.1(Coupe) , but the different trims have different times.
