Audi LED Design & Technology - featuring the Audi Q7
Efficient, reliable, one-of-a-kind. Audi was the first automobile
manufacturer to recognize the potential of revolutionary LED lighting
technology and then incorporate it during development of its vehicles. The
brand with the four rings has since acquired a technological edge putting
it years ahead of the competition, and is a key driver of this innovation.
Crucial for the exterior design: Not only during the day but also at night,
all Audi models are recognizable at a glance thanks to LED daytime running
lights. And each Audi has its own personality: The sweeping light strip on
the Audi A1 exudes determination. And that of the new Audi A8 radiates
strength and dominance: Its headlights were designed and constructed
entirely on the basis of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly LED

BMW Intelligent Headlight Technology: Long Version.
First introduced on the new BMW 7 Series (July 2012) as part of the
optional Adaptive LED Headlights, this functionality is now also supported
with Xenon headlights on all new BMW 3 Series Saloon and Touring models
specified with a Visibility package.
BMW Adaptive Headlights are combined with BMW High-beam Assistant
technology to provide an intelligent headlight system that optimises the
illumination of the road ahead without glaring on-coming traffic and other

2011 Audi A8 Lighting Sequence
http://www.eurocarnews.com - Audi USA - The 2011 Audi A8 features new LED
headlights, which use light emitting diodes for all light functions. They
give the Audi flagship an unmistakable appearance in daylight and even more
so after the fall of darkness. The revolutionary optics used in these
headlights mean a departure from the tubular light modules commonly used

Audi A7 Lighting Sequence
With their special structures, the LED headlights generate unmistakable
graphics, day or night. Two three-chip LEDs per unit generate the low
beams. They are installed in separate chambers in the upper section of the
headlight. Next to them are the high beams, which likewise comprise
three-chip LEDs and a free surface reflector system. The turning light, the
all-weather light and the highway light round out the system.
Audi's New OLED Lighting Technology At CES 2013
Audi have long led the way in car lighting design and technology and now
they're pushing the boundaries even further. With laser beams, OLED
lighting clusters and their distinctive 'OLED swarm' prototype they're set
to continue to lead the competition.
The new laser technology is a safety device designed to make the Audi more
visible to following drivers in foggy conditions. Projecting a distinctive
triangular beam of light behind the car, it allows drivers to see exactly
where the source of the beam is coming from and brake more quickly.
Audi's OLED technology is the next step from their LED lighting. It uses
even less energy than LED lighting and offers more possibilities, such as
animated turn signals and complex 3D shapes.
Finally, the OLED swarm shows just how far Audi can go with this new
technology. Will we see it in production? Who knows, maybe it's not that
