My new 460 in my 1971 LTD. C-6, 2200 stall, 2.75:1 ring and pinion, about 400 hp 530 lb. ft. Car has a huge amount of power. It short shifts(4500 rpm) and hesitates because of a heavy secondary spring(black) and still accelerates like mad. I'm going to do some carburetor tuning and find a way to shift manually while holding the camera, then post a new video. I'm pretty sure it will hit 100 in around 10 seconds properly tuned.

1976 Ford F-250 Ranger "Mean Green" 460 C.I. Start and Drive
In this video I start up my beloved 76 F-250 Ranger, known as "Mean Green",
shes got a bored .040 over block. 9.7:1 compression, Edelbrock intake and
Edelbrock 4 Barrel 750 CFM Carb, MSD Distributor and coil, RV cam, and
slightly milled heads. Estimated horsepower is in the 350 to
400 range with somewhere around 400 to 500 ft lbs of torque, I know this
from the power adder combos I have used that are discused on ford truck and
460 engine forums that what I have should make the amount of power I say it

FIRST, YES I REALIZED AFTER UPLOADING THIS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE KEY IN
THE IGNITION WHEN I WAS TESTING THOSE THINGS. I DON'T NORMALLY LIKE USING
CAPS BUT IT SEEMS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS.

Cam is an "Interceptor" grind cam.. made to optimize torque.
True Dual Exhaust thru 2 1/2 inch Exhaust with H-pipe. I removed the
original Ford Police Performance mufflers and put on Dynomax Ultra Flows... didnt
really notice any differance in performance. But they are a little louder
than the Police Mufflers.

Ford 460 trying to "WOT launch" from dead stop to 90 mph
Just me messing around... Trying to launch WOT requires "pedaling" to
control wheelspin even with a spool. New carburetor!! 650 Holley DP with
custom 1:1 linkage and ford kickdown by myself. This very mild 460 engine
is well matched- cam, carburetor, and intake are all done making power at
5500 rpm. Still running manifolds also. Had some carburetor heat after a
1 hour drive.

.514/.524 107 111 hydraulic Extreme Energy 4x4 camshaft in at 105 ICL, Comp
cams full roller billet steel timing set w/ thrust bearing, Stainless full
roller rockers, Crane Cams xr-3000 optical ignition, Autolite distributor
re-curved, 80gph Holley pump.
Vacuum 14", 24 mechanical and 10 initial for 34 total timing all in at 3000
Approx. 400 hp 530 lb. ft.- Would be a lot better with headers.
Valvetrain noise due to little preload.
