Muscle Cars and Burnouts
I made a compilation video for YouTube. It was really cool. I had tunes from Skid Row and you could hear the cars in the background. Unfortunately, YouTube said I had a copyright infringement so I either had to trash the video or use one of YouTubes crappy soundtracks. I'll make another one with the sound of the cars only soon. Later! Dave

Porky's MN - Final Sat night burnouts - Part 3
A Minneapolis-St. Paul icon, Porky's Drive-In on University Avenue in St. Paul MN, closed its doors on April 3, 2011. Sadly, after a 58-year history, the popular hangout for hot-rodders & car buffs is no more. Light rail construction is forever changing the face of University Avenue and the owner felt that it would no longer be possible to stay in business. For decades, the 'University Avenue cruise' has been considered one of the top Friday/Saturday night cruises in the US for auto enthusiasts, and Porky's was the destination. On most any weekend evening from April through September, one could find University Avenue filled with hot-rods for blocks, and by 8-9 PM, there was usually a waiting line just to park in Porky's lot. From Friday through Sunday, thousands of people came to have their last meal at the drive-in - many driving from other towns. Hundreds of hot-rodders took their cars out of storage early for the occasion, and many paid their last respects by doing burnouts right on the street in front of the restaurant. From Friday evening through Sunday evening, burnouts had the right-of-way on University Avenue. No traffic could pass without waiting for cars doing burnouts - in both lanes. Traffic was directed by fellow hot-rodders. In all my years of hot-rodding, I had never seen anything like this happen on a public street that wasn't officially blocked off - until now. This was a unique celebration of the end of a 58-year tradition. To their credit, the local police did not intervene. Here are parts 1 & 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIBgv0UVnKs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uULlpKJjf0Y A fitting end for an old, familiar friend. Farewell Porky's. You will be missed. The sound of 100,000 horsepower slowly fades into memory. A whisper of the past....echoing forever down the rails....

1972 Buick Skylark ride
This is a video of my late brother Andrew and his 1972 Buick Skylark. Andrew was undergoing chemo at the time this video was shot so it was one of his last rides in the car. He had the car for 20 years and performed all sorts of modifications on it such as rebuilding the engine, converting the car to a five speed manual and toughening up the suspension. The car is a Buick 350, 4 bbl and five speed. Andrew passed away on December 31st, 2006. The music is from King Crimson.

1972 Buick Skylark
1972 Buick Skylark with a Hi-Compression Buick 350-4 I've had this car since October 8th 2010, I'm a senior in High School and it is my first car, my dad payed for half of it and I payed for the other half. I pay for the performance goodies that go into it and the occasional parts that break too. I love driving this old monster even though premium gas prices are outrageous but the rumble and roar of that massive V8 are well worth it. I take pride in this car and my dad and I do most of the work on it ourselves, it's somewhat of a father-son project. We've done nothing but make this car a heck of a lot better than it was when we got it. In the great words of GS Club of America, going fast with class, that's what these Buicks do. Detials: Stock HP: 175hp (for 1972 Buick 350-4 8.5:1 compression) Rear-wheel HP: 226hp @ 4326 RPM (should be a little higher with the Hyfire and Mallory coil) Rear-wheel Tourqe: 307.8 lb-ft @ 3372 RPM (should also be a little higher) Net HP: approx. 260hp Compression: 9.5:1 (not sure, but definitely higher than stock because without prem fuel I get spark knock with the correct fuel to air mixture) Rear-end gears: 2.73:1 Open Differential (plan on getting a Limited Slip one) Transmission: turbohydramatic 350 (with a shift kit for fun :D)

Dukes of Hazzard style car jump
Whitsett NC. This 1970 Buick Skylark was found in the woods after property was purchased. I decided to jump it after getting it running since it's, well, a four door ugly Buick. Wanted to recreate a Dukes of Hazzard style jump, so my girls and I painted it with latex semi gloss interior paint as close to the acme orange on the General Lee. We called this car Uncle Slam. The jump took place on a hot as hell afternoon on July 19th, 2008. I hit the ramp at about 65 miles per hour and went a total of 74' What a blast! I could have used a few hundred more pounds of junk in the trunk though, as it nosed over pretty hard. We had an "in car" camera and a camera mounted on the trunk and another mounted on the lower left side. If you look close, you can see the side camera liberate from the car and sail through the air. Unfortunately the video from the two other cameras got corrupted or something. Oh well, guess I'll have to do a sequel to get it right. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed the video.
