Sparks fly as Ali Saed stands his Chevy powered Capri on the bumper at Sydney Dragway. We're not sure how much damage there was, but they way he runs over the timing boxes at the end of the track shows that not everything was right.
SUBTLE Wins Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals
It may be SUBTLE by name but Jeremy Callaghan's twin turbo Torana is anything but subtle. Even though
it's not the quickest car in the class the Torana swept all before it
during the Chicago Shootout in Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine
Nationals and then defeeated the Perko Torana in the finals. A solid win
from a very cool looking car
Forward Control Land Rover Burnout
Another one from the burnout video vault. This unusual vehicle is a Forward
Control Land Rover and while I'm not sure what engine it's running, I'm
betting it's not the one it left the factory with. Pretty cool burnout from
a very unusual vehicle.
ULEGAL is a SMOKE MACHINE!
Mick Brasher's ULEGAL Corolla blanketed the pad at Sydney's Street Machine
Nationals. The little blown chevy powered beast had a new motor for the
show and Mick drove all through the night to make it to Sydney in time and
delivered this awesome burnout. Not quite good enough for the win though, i
think he came second.
CUTSIK - Burnout Winner at Street Machine Nationals
Craig Widdett whips it hard at the Street Machine Nationals to win the
burnout comp ahead of some very tough competition. The grey VK Commodore
runs a blown LS1 based Chevy and the revs were right up there as he
blankets the grandstand with smoke. In the past, Commodores have been
pretty rare in the winners circle at burnout comps but with a slew of new
rides hitting the scene in the last year or two I think those days might be
MRHELI Taps the Wall At Sydney Dragway
MRHELI gets lose at high speed and gives the wall a budge at Sydney
Dragway. He's lucky this wasn't much worse given the speed he was doing
when it got out of shape.
Twin Turbo V8 Lexus-powered Capri
Joe Geri's Capri recently featured in Street Machine Magazine and it has
run as fast as 8.34 at 164mph. But instead of running a V8 Ford engine Joe
has gone for a 4-litre Lexus V8, which is legally the biggest engine he can
fit to the car and turbo it while
remaining totally street legal. He drives this car to the track, bolts on
some slicks, runs eights and drives it home. It's a true street and strip
warrior. Nice one Joe!
Pro Fab Cortina Goes 200mph
Joe Gauci used to be the underdog with his six pack Cortina but now he's
the big dog and one of the most consistent runners in the sport. Just check
out these runs, he could run DYO with that kind of consistentcy. The engine
is a 370ci Windsor with twin turbos.
Fiesty APSA Girls at Street Machine Nationals
Thank god for Promo girls. Otherwise there would be nothing to look at
other than cars at car events... and we couldn't have that. these lovely
lasses were at the Street Machine Nationals promoting the Australian Pro
Street Association and they were doing a pretty damn fine job of it too.
Sparks Fly - HG Holden Wheelstand
I'm not totally sure who's HG Holden this is, but it had no trouble getting
the front wheels off the deck and scaring the driver. It came down with a
hell of a thump and sparks went everywhere. But obviously it was okay
because the car came out later and made more passes. Good to see.
