Lancia Delta S4 Rally Pure Engine Sound The Lancia Delta S4 is a Group B rally car that competed in the World Rally Championship in 1985 and 1986, until Group B cars were banned from competition by the FIA. The car replaced and was an evolution of the Lancia 037. Rallye Sanremo 1986'
28º Rallye Sanremo Results annulled by FISA Sanremo 1986' cannot be considered as an WRC event. The season ended with more controversy when the organizers of the Rallye Sanremo disqualified the entire Peugeot team from the event due to illegal side skirts. However, the cars were proven legal by the FIA, and the Italian organizers were blamed for not allowing French Peugeot's to take the win ahead of the Italian Lancia's. All championship points of that rallye were annulled and because of that.





Group B - Crazy Fans
The lure of the Group B monster attracted more and more fans each stage,eager to get a glimpse of a quattro shooting 1 foot of flame out the Exhaust or see the cars throwing up dirt. Some rallys saw hundreds of thousands of fans lining the edge of the roads forming a human wall. The rally fans during the Group B ere were the crazyest and biggest ever. Henri Toivonen Tribute by TTRS Complete Edition Tour de Corse - Rallye de France 1986' {Date:from Thursday 1-May-1986' to Saturday 3-May-1986'} Certainly the most notorious of the WRC rounds, Corsica has been scene of many bad accidents. {The Toivonen n Cresto accident} Toivonen's accident remains a mystery because it had no close witnesses. While leading the rally during the second leg on friday 2 May, at from the start seventh kilometre on the SS18 Corte-Taverna, Toivonen's Lancia went off the side of the road at a loose left-hand bend with no guardrail. The car overturned in the air and exploded upon impact with trees at the side of the road. The car was completely destroyed in the fire and Toivonen and Cresto had no chance of surviving. The stage was stopped immediately and the two remaining stages of the day after cancelled.
