1992 Lexus SC400 / Toyota Soarer 4.0GT w/ Custom Exhaust
This is my 1992 Lexus SC400 which I converted into a JDM style Toyota Soarer 4.0GT. For those who dont know, Japan doesnt officially have Lexus, all the US Lexus cars are actually Toyotas in Japan. The equivalent of the SC400 is the Toyota Soarer. But anyway, I've got this SC400 from an auction and made it my project car. I wanted to convert this into the Soarer 4.0GT. Its got the same 4.0L V8 32 CAM engine. Very powerful! Car has 133k miles now. I succeeded mostly with the small project. Recently I had to change the engine though. Low compression and some bad sensors. I found an engine from a 95 SC400 with 52k miles on it (Carfax confirmed!) and I got it for $800. Cost me another 600 to put it in ;) Drives awesome!! I still would love to put an original Soarer Steering wheel and some wide rims in the back. Oh by the way, the rims i got on now are from an 05 Solara ;) I recently also changed the Exhaust. I removed the rear two muffles and put a straight fat pipe. My buddy put it in for 80 bux. Damn what a deal! I get lots of looks and questions about this car when I drive around town, especially downtown Chicago. Im the only one in town with this mod! :D Im suspecting people will copy me, oh well thats great! Enjoy! ~sebastian, 08-09-09
