Factory Five Racing Cobra Replica - WR TV
While we may be living in the golden age of performance right now, there
will always be a place in the hearts and minds of gearheads the world over
for the classics.
The AC Cobra was the brainchild of Carroll Shelby, who took the gorgeous,
lightweight body of the British-made AC Ace and stuffed a Ford V8 in the
engine bay, thereby creating a legendary sports car that we still lust
after some fifty years later.
While original Cobras command price tags well into seven figure territory,
companies like Factory Five Racing offer replica kits which are much more
accessible to the average pocketbook. And as you'll see in this video,
they're almost indiscernible from the real thing in terms of aesthetics,
mechanicals, performance and sound.
This particular example features Factory Five coilover suspension, a
warmed-over 302ci motor that breathes through a great sounding set of full
length headers, and a modern Ford Racing T5Z 5-speed manual transmission.

playing the sound through headphones gives the sensation of 3D sound. All
of this translates to a very realistic listening experience.
WINDING ROAD RACING is here, carrying the gear you need to go faster.
My girlfriend takes my 1965 (Factory Five MKIII replica) Shelby Cobra out for a drive.
Sorry about the sound in this video. I mounted the GoPro to the roll bar
but I think it was vibrating or something. She did pretty well driving the
Cobra... minus a couple grinds haha. The Cobra is a bit tempermental and
not really easy on you the first time you take her out. Proud of my girl...

Factory Five Customer Ron Everitt's Mk3 Roadster
Factory Five customer Ron Everitt visited the factory on Saturday, July 30,
2011 and talked to FFR President Dave Smith about his Mk3 Roadster that he
built a few years ago. After their discussion, Ron handed Dave keys to
take the car out for a quick drive.

On the front straight doing 130mph, something breaks in the frontend. The
cobra veers hard right and off track. The car leaves a 6O foot gash in the
asphalt as it veered before leaving the track and continued for an
additional 500 feet off track to its resting point. I received only minor
injuries to my left knee and bruised ribs.
