The monstrous hood scoops and huge air vents added to the all black

I've been looking for a car for my son for a while now. He wanted
something that he could fix up and keep for years. His dream car was a
third generation trans am and that's exactly what we found. It's going to
be a bit of a project, but that's what we wanted anyway. We plan to restore
and modify the car and film videos of the progress along the way. The car
is a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am with the LG9 5.0 TPI V8. The previous owner
already added headers, a cold air induction setup, aftermarket distributor
and coil, 2500 stall converter, TCI servos in the tranny, drag shocks,
subframe connectors, boxed control arms, and more. Overall, we think it's a
great base to start with. I hope you find it interesting...thanks for
1987 PONTIAC TRANS AM GTA -- A VERY SPECIAL TRANS AM
Presented here is a rare and unique edition of a Trans Am. The Trans Am
GTA. The Firebird body remained basically unchanged. All center,
high-mounted stop lamps were relocated to a new position between the
spoiler and the rear deck lid, and the large Firebird hood emblem
disappeared forever. All V8's now received factory roller camshafts, and
faced with consumer demands for more power, GM officially released the new
5.7L with tuned port fuel injection. Available only with an automatic
transmission, it produced 210 hp and takes the top performance seat from
the 5.0L L69 production is stopped, leaving the LG4 as the only remaining
carbureted V8 used in the F-body. Trans Am GTA, Gran Turismo Americano, was
introduced, available with the LB9 305 TPI engine, which was returned to
215 hp., or the L98 350 TPI. Gold 16-inch, flat-mesh, diamond-spoke wheels
were standard on GTA, with 16-inch, 20-slot wheels standard on Trans Am.
The Trans Am GTA was Pontiac's pride and joy with a standard 5.7L 350 Tuned
Port Injection (TPI). Many people like to say, incorrectly, that the engine
itself was pulled directly out of the C4 Corvette, which itself began using
the engine in 1985, but the heads on the Corvette were aluminum whereas the
Firebird heads were cast Iron. The GTA came with a standard TH-700R4
automatic transmission, A/C, new seats with inflatable lumbar and side
bolsters, special door panels, epoxy-filled emblems, body-colored ground
effects, a special GTA horn button, and the legendary WS6 performance
handling package. All of these options were packaged into the Trans Am
under the RPO code Y84, and the model was produced until the end of Third
Generation F-body production in 1992. Every thing about this GTA is
spectacular. The paint color, the muscle engine that's "clean as a
whistle", the sporty interior, T-Tops, gold colored wheels, and hatch
revealing plenty of storage. This GTA cost around $14,104 new, has a 101
inches wheelbase and weighs 3,435 lbs. U.S. production of GTA's is 9,481
and Canadian figures show 1,509 units. Thanks very much for viewing this

Here is the first vid in a few I plan on putting together showing the work
done so far on my 1986 trans am. The car is getting a turbocharged 5.3 LSx engine and a T56 transmission
as well as all BMR suspension. There will be no money spared in this build
so stay tuned for more updates.
1988 GTA Trans-Am Transam Firebird Full Custom Restore
A 1988 Trans-am that has been converted to a GTA with a digital dash, power
leather seats, matching interior, etc. This is the 5th Trans-am / Firebird
the owner has owned. Bottom up full restore, New Engine, new transmission,
new rear end, all new breaking, all new suspension, new Supercharger, etc. Almost done and 100% AWESOME!

1989 Pontiac GTA Trans Am 350 T-Top TPI Upgrded Edelbrock Dynamax
Nathan Wratislaw like Trans ams and i have over 45 of them this one is not
perfect it needs the obivious things that you can see but this is a Great
car ata Gret price Youll be sure to love this one..This car is very fast
....Someone put $3000 plus more likely closer to $5000 Into Upgraes on the
Motor, Transmission, Intae, Exaust And Suspension. This car Moves It still
looks good but as you watch the video you will see it has No headliner
needs a piece on drivers door panel. has a few scuffs etc. there are
seatcovers on the factory GTA racing sats and they need redone they are
torn etc my guy will redo them for $550 t-tops have a crack or 2 and the
windshield has a crack. Pretty common when you beef one up this much. The
car is pretty much all here including the t-top bags in the bac and the
space saver spare. has the Edelbrock dual Throttle bodies and a 3" or so
Dynamax exaust coupled with the suspension this car is set up to GO!! Its
the kind of car tha looks good you can drive around and fix up as you go
these are Great cars and you will have a great investment car that is a
muscke car and can get you low 20's on gas milage Great cars and this one
is a Great price i could cut it up and sell the parts for more than im
asking. Make sure and check out my other videos i always have all sorts of
unique Classic, EURO & Muscle cars and i sell them cheap. Need help
