Mustang Front Suspension Installation Forgotten Fastback 1965
In this installation video, Bill demonstrates how to upgrade a front
suspension in CJ's 1965 Forgotten Fastback project car. Before the upgrade,
the Forgotten Fastback's suspension was beyond poor, with two 4x4s for
springs and several loose parts.
In order to make the Fastback a Mustang with modern updates, we've
decided to install a stock-style suspension with a few performance
upgrades, which will provide a better handling experience. For springs,
upper and lower control arms, and a strut rod kit, we've chosen top-quality
products from Scott Drake.
Mustang Scott Drake Coil
These springs allow your Classic Mustang to take advantage of the
latest suspension technology and perform more like a modern sports car.
They provide a fairly stock smooth ride during normal driving, but as the
springs compress under load (primarily during braking and cornering) they
progressively become firmer to offer the handling characteristics similar
to our 600 pound performance springs.
Mustang Scott Drake Lower
Control Arm Assembly 1965-1966:
These lower control arms are the finest available and feature the original
riveted design for a more authentic look. They are painted black and
natural steel gray and come with a ball joint, grease seal, a washer and
nut and a cotter key.

Control Arm Assembly 1965-1966:
These upper control arms are the finest reproductions available and are not
rebuilt, but rather all new. They're painted black and natural steel gray,
come ready to install, and include the bushings, ball joint, but with
cotter key and washers with locking nuts.

The Ford Mustang is an
automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based
on the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car.
Introduced early on April 17, 1964, dubbed as a "1964½" model by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most
successful launch since the Model A. The model is Ford's third oldest
nameplate in production and has undergone several transformations to its
current fifth generation.
The Mustang created the
"pony car" class of American automobiles—sports car-like coupes with long
hoods and short rear decks[—and gave rise to competitors such as GM's
Chevrolet Camaro, AMC's
Javelin, and Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracudas and Dodge Challengers.
It was a full restoration 1,700 miles ago and has been pampered ever since.
The body has been modified slightly but very tastefully and the interior
has been done the same way.

1965 FORD Mustang FASTBACK.
# 5R09C170528. 289 V-8 2 BC with 4 speed. Matching #'s except the black
strips. The door tag may have been replaced so it's really hard to tell if
this is a matching #'s car? You will buy this car on it's condition and you
will be happy with your choice. Beautiful silver paint. Front disc brakes.
Style steel wheels. GT light bar. GT Exhaust tips. Back up lights. This was a
standard bucket seat Mustang but some where along it's
life some one installed a bench seat with pony seat covers and pony door
panels. Remote mirror. Fold down back seat. Rally Pack, the tack kind of
works the clock does not. Seat belts. Stock non working AM radio. Wood
steering wheel. Hurst shifter. The brakes are all new. except master
cylinder. The underside looks great and it's clean. Both front floor pans
have been replaced. The trunk drain vents are filled in. We in stalled a
new 3 core radiator. When Metal frictions was doing the service and safety
check Dick found the frond disc brakes were bad and replaced the calipers
and rotors, new wheel bearings, new rear drums and shoes. This Mustang was in Colorado 2000 and had
a lot of work done like new paint. Engine was completely rebuilt.
Transmission was rebuilt and the interior was restored. About $22,000
dollars was spent. This is one of the nicest Mustangs your going to find. It looks
outstanding. It's ready for your driving pleasure. Cond # 2.
