1965 Ford Falcon Wagon Gateway Classic Cars Orlando #142
For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1965 Ford Falcon Wagon. The early sixties in America was a great time for automotive advancement, with the marketplace shifting from large road dominating sedans to smaller more compact vehicles brought on by European competition. Ford saw this challenge and met it head on with the Falcon. With strong uni body construction and reasonably sized engine options the Falcon was an immediate success within the U.S. and abroad. This stunning red wagon is quite a rare bird being the last year for the two door station wagon variant. Our example has been taken into the next level of cool with the addition of some high octane goodies. Under the hood sits a very stout high performance 289CID V8, equipped with larger camshaft, upgraded heads, bigger carb and plenty of horsepower to move this wagon down the road with authority. Once the key is turned on, that high powered 289 thunders through a custom side exit Exhaust that really grabs attention with its throaty growl. An upgraded C4 transmission puts that power to the ground with the help of a 9” trac lock rear end. The owner of this Falcon also took the time to do the paint and body right and one look at the deep red paint will tell you this. Custom wheels and side exit Exhaust give this cruiser the right street look for any occasion. Inside the cab you’ll find a clean and simple black vinyl scheme that matches incredibly well in contrast to the vibrancy of the red exterior. This is certainly an attention getting falcon as there were not that many made to begin with and even less of the 2 door variety. Shane has owned this 1964 ford falcon Sprint 2 door hardtop since 1997 when he was 15 years old. He bought this car for $500 and made payments "$100 at a time". The car was a shell when he got it and over the years he has turned it into a running, and driving classic car with a Ford 302 V8 and a 5-spd manual transmission out of a Mustang 5.0. 1964 FORD FALCON STATION WAGON - 1 OF 17,779
Ford Falcon continues to attract buyers. This year, Falcon offered 4 wagons. There was the 2 door, the 4 door such as this, the Deluxe 4 door, and the high-end Squire 4 door. This particular wagon would have cost you in the neighborhood of $2,360. Engines for the Falcon wagons this year would be two L-head sixes, at 200 cid, and 223 with 116 and 138 horses respectively, plus a V8 260 cid, 260 hp. These were the only engines available for the Falcon wagon. Other Falcon models had a broader choice. This wagon seems roomy with ample cargo area and seating. Familiar Ford round tail lights grace the rear end. Notice the plain interior with the dash instruments easily seen by the driver and the 60's type vinyl seats. The 1964 Ford products have been called the prettiest Fords of the 1960's and this Ford Falcon fits well into that catagory. Thanks for viewing this 1964 Ford Falcon station wagon.
