It looks like the wastegate was the limiting factor. I blocked it off with a metal plate and I now hits 18psi. I took it to the Dyno again and laid down 695hp and 595tq sae corrected. I also tried out the spool valve again. It works! The quickspool closes half of the divided turbine housing and is activated at 14ish psi to open up from .66 ar to 1.32 ar. I plan on trying co2 in to the ams1000 to see if I can achieve the same results as blocking off the wastegate. So I have some control. The car will now hit 5 psi on the foot brake. I am very excited to see what I will do once the track opens up again.
450hp LS1 1978 Datsun 280Z
One of the coolest imports I've had the opportunity to see in action, this
extremely streetable 1978 Datsun 280z takes it's first trip to the drag
strip to do some testing. The car has an LS1 with heads, cam, and FAST
intake manifold putting down around 450 wheel horsepower! Best 1/8 mile
time was 7.11 for the night.

Turbo LS1 Datsun 240Z racing
Finally got the new bottom end, TH350 trans, and new BW S400 turbo installed and running. Took it out to the
track for some break in runs. 9psi, NO timing, safe AFR. 6.96@103 was
best time. Time for some better gas, more Boost, and some Dyno time!
