2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 4Matic - Autoweek exclusive first look

Autoweek senior editor at-large Jeff Vettraino was recently invited to check out the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. It's the third version of the E63 we've seen since the current generation E-Class debuted in 2010. It's also the first AMG product to feature all-wheel drive. Of course, European customers will still be able to order an E63 with rear-wheel drive, but that's another story.

The Audi SQ5 performance crossover will pack a 354 hp supercharged V6 - Autoweek TV with Andrew Stoy
Audi is using next week's Detroit auto show to roll out a high-performance version of the Q5 crossover. The SQ5 packs a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that cranks out 354 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque. The quattro all-wheel-drive system gets that power to the pavement. And for those in the "size matters" department, the SQ5 rolls on 20-inch wheels, with 21-inch units optional. The SQ5 goes on sale this summer. Details on the SQ5: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130107/DETROIT/130109905?utm_source=youtu be&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=social The government is proposing that electric cars and hybrids make some sort of warning sound when traveling at low speeds. The idea is to protect pedestrians and bicyclists when the environmentally friendly cars are gliding along in electric mode. NHTSA says 2,800 injuries a year could be prevented if hybrids and EVs make a noise at speeds less than 18 mph. Some vehicles, such as the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf and Toyota Prius, already use a warning system. Details on NHTSA proposed rules for hybrids, EVs: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130107/CARNEWS/130109902?utm_source=youtu be&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=social Finally for today, Cadillac is working to prime the pump for next week's reveal of the ELR extended-range hybrid with this photo of a prototype, wrapped in camouflage. We've seen the ELR coupe before, as a concept. And this shot shows that the production car keeps most of the concept's sleek lines. Under the hood will be a version of the extended-range hybrid powertrain first used on the Chevrolet Volt. That's the news for now. We'll be back tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the drive.
