1970 Superbird & 1972 Cuda Racing On Interstate 75
This is my red, white and blue Superbird back when it was a stock Alpine White Superbird. A group of us were on our way from Detroit, Michigan to Columbus, Ohio for a Mopar show in September of 1985. We all had C.B. radios and I lined up against a buddy of mine in a 1972 Cuda. The footage was shot from another Superbird behind me. The "three count" was given over the C.B. radio.

1972 Plymouth 'Cuda - A Great American Muscle Car
The Plymouth 'Cuda is a numbers matching 340 c.i. with only 55,000 original miles. This is like no other 'Cuda you will ever see. I purchased this car in 1977 and it sat for many years. When I bought the car it had a cheap paint job obviously hiding something and even with the low miles, the vinyl seats were starting to crack. After removing the engine and all the chrome, the car was stripped to bare metal and we found some repair work but not too bad. It was repainted with 6 base coats and 6 clear coats. It shines like you will see in the video. I kept it the stock B5 Blue (maybe just a touch richer) but changed the white interior and vinyl top from white to black. There have been slight modifications to the engine with built heads, a different cam, and an automatic transmission shift kit. The only thing that gives away that it is not stock is the headers. So many people see my car and question why they sold their old muscle car. I recognized from early on that the 'Cuda was going to become a valuable classic and there was no way I was going to sell it. So here it sits in all its beauty and I am now taking it to car shows for everyone to appreciate. Try taking a casual drive down the street and everyone gives it a thumbs up, shouts what a great car it is, asked us to step on it, and sometimes we do. Even the cops pull me over just to check out the car. They can appreciate a great muscle car too.
