We put the high end MUSCLE CARS from Dodge, Ford, and Chevy head to head to head to see who can take the title of the best muscle car in America! Dodge brings the Challenger SRT Hellcat to the table. Since the introduction of the Ford Mustang in 1964, three American companies have been battling to build the best muscle car in America. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. And now, all 3 have contenders in the high-end muscle car segment. But which one will take the title for best muscle car? Let’s find out. Intro First on the track is the Camaro ZL1. With 580 horsepower on tap, it’s Chevy’s most powerful Camaro ever made. Pop the hood and you’ll find a 6.2L Supercharged V8 with 556 lb. ft. of torque and a fuel economy rating of - cut to Camaro on the track The ZL1 hits a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds, a 12 second quarter mile, and a top speed of 184 mph! And with a price tag of $55,505 the Camaro is comfortably in the middle of the two other options. Taking on the ZL1 is the Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT. It’s also got a Supercharged 6.2L V8, except the HEMI produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb/ft of torque. Making Dodge the undeniable king of the horsepower wars this time around. In fact, the Hellcat price per horsepower is only 85 dollars! But does all that muscle make the Hellcat faster than the ZL1 too? You bet it does! It hits the 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and has an impressive 10.8 second quarter mile. Smoking the Camaro on the drag strip. And it’s top speed? 199 miles per hour because you know hp was too much Unlike any other modern muscle car offering, the Hellcat is an unashamed, full-on badass muscle car. While Ford and Chevy are producing more and more sophisticated designs, Dodge put all their efforts into POWER, street presence, and performance on the drag strip. Ford is the last to enter the race with the recently announced Shelby GT350 Mustang.
