Old school stroker Datsun 4 cylinder making a very broad power and torque
curve thanks to a small Garrett T28 turbo and Austronic EFI fuel system. The engine
will be going into a Datusn 1600 street car. On the engine Dyno at Johnsons Performance

my datsun 120y turbo on the Dyno for tuning and a few power
runs, running a blowthrough setup on a
stock 37yo a12 engine
solex 32dis carb with 12a turbo carb hat
custom front mount 300x200 Intercooler and 2.5" piping
2.5" dump into 2" Exhaust
ihi rhf5 turbo @ 15psi
bosch 070 efi fuel pump
malpassi carb fuel reg
arp head studs
has turbo surge issues with the stock
turbo wastegate at 11psi. needs new
external wastegate setup.
this setup has made 80.1RWKW @ 15psi. quite impressive i reckon!
The Defect III (Datsun 120Y) lives!
July 1974 Datsun 120Y 4 door Sedan, which is known in some markets as a
B-210 or Honeybee - it started life as a A12/3 speed Auto/H145 diff car -
it's now is a B310 (Sunny) A12/ smoothcase four speed and BW68 diff in it
as well as late model Australian 120Y sedan front suspension as well
the original A12 engine was seized... so I updated as much of it as I could
to Aussie late model 120Y Sedan mechanicals
purchased on PKR.48000 and sold out on 230000 hehehe
Datsun 1000 Jetting Run Worked 1200cc engine
Working on eliminating a flutter on acceleration, so far so good- showing
smooth acceleration. Still running rich, dropping pump nozzle sizes to 30
and running smaller mains & pilots later on.
Twin Mikuni 40Phh Type-R carburetors.

then into 60mm pipe, then divide into two 30mm pipes from half way (all
stainless)then into 2 stainless high-flow mufllers
Stock 510 SSS brakes (for now)

Ceramic clutch disc
Modified various places to acomadate
Battrey now lives in the boot
Spare wheel well cut out replaced with new floor
Some rust work
New chrome bumpers
Every screw, nut, washer and bolt nickel plated
Stripped back to bare metal, etch primer, polyester coat, colour matched
high fill primer then sprayed with 2-pack straight orange.
Compomotive 15 inch Minilites, 7 inch front and 8.5 inch rear
