Quickest & the Fastest 1980's style
Elmer trett runs 198mph on a BRAND NEW BIKE, can only guess that it is it
titanium framed bike, we think it is 86 or 87. But somebody, " me"
did a poor job of marking the tape. Enjoy. I don't want to ruin it for you,
because the year before Elmer ran 200mph, but in the semi's he meets up
with Mark Miller that was the quickest bike running a 6.96 the year
before,,,,,,& at this race he ran 7.21. 7.24. 7.26. 7.28
Frank Spittle on The Freight Train Top Fuel Twin Engine Harley ( Part 1)
Frank Spittle, who raced drag bikes for more than 20 years, purchased the
Harley-Davidson from Elmer Trett in 1983 and named it Freight Train for its
locomotive-like amounts of pulling power. Spittle's best times on the
Harley were 7.63 seconds in the quarter-mile at 191.27 mph and 5.19 seconds
on an eighth-mile strip at 147.56 mph. In 1985, Spittle wrecked at 145 mph,
retired from racing and sold Freight Train to his crew chief, Jimmy
"T-Bird" Yelton, who rebuilt it in 1990 in his Gastonia, N.C., shop for
Randy Milling to race.

motorplex Elmer Trett & Sam Wills.mpg
Our first trip to the motorplex ennis TX. Was a real eyeopener. We had
raced at Wichita KS, great bend, ark city liberal Ks. Tulsa ok, KCIR in kc
MO........but when we drove by in the middle of the night and it was lit up
like a NFL football stadium. I think we all took a DEEP breath! The next
day it was more of the same, my wife Lynne & I were in a LONG line behind
Jim McClure and we visited for a long time till we got up to pay our entry
fee. The list of names that showed up for this race are many of the stars
of the day.
Been looking for this tape for a long time. Hope it comes out good. Listen
to the announcer, it was years after the meet that I figured out it was Bob
Frey from NHRA.
This is Elmer Trett then Sam Wills
Kawasaki Quarter Mile King 1979
Video is from the International Drag Bike Association (IDBA) World Finals
in 1979. Features Sid Pogue, Terry Vance, Vickie Farr and more.
This is one segment from the restored video player “ Kawasaki Good Times
Theatre”. The Good Times Theatre video players were used at Kawasaki
dealerships in the 1970’s for customer viewing on the showrooms.
This restored video features great Kawasaki moments from the mid to late
1970’s. Audio quality on the restored video is fair, but clearly
understandable. This is a great piece of Motorcycle History. Hope you enjoy
Top Fuel Dragster Helmet Cam - Phil Read
Phil Read Elimination round 1 at Perth Motorplex, January 29th 2011. Helmet
cam view of Phil's pass. $800 worth of Nitro Methane gone in 2 minutes. Supercharger blows off and yet another
fireball in the second half of the pass. Car still ran 4.90, but had more
speed at half track than at the finish. Next pass was more steady and much
faster - 311mph (501kph) in a
virtual dead heat with Phil Lamattina. 4.806 vs 4.808. TOP FUEL is
something you HAVE to experience first-hand at some stage in your life,
even if just once. And if you like this clip, you'll love this one:
