2012 Kia Rio Test Drive & Car Review

http://www.autobytel.com/kia/rio/2012/?id=32972 The 2012 Kia Rio is certainly an entry level subcompact car. But the Rio elevates this segment. The features are top of the line, the price is excellent, and the fuel economy is amazing. For the 2012 Model year the Kia Rio comes in 2 different body styles. The regular Kia Rio is a 4-door compact car and the Kia Rio 5 is a 5-door hatchback. The 2012 Kia Rio has a base price of $13,400. Past subcompact cars were ugly econoboxes that no one really wanted to drive. Well Kia has pushed the design envelope with the new Rio which features sharp headlights and an attractive front bumper which makes the car look more expansive then it is. The GDi gamma 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine produces 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft. of torque. The Rio has great fuel economy with 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. There are tons of features and options that come standard on the Rio but the best part is Hyundai's 100k mile powertrain warranty. The 2012 Kia Rio is a great value at this price point. 2012 Mazda Mazda2 Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda2/2012/?id=32972 Here in America we think bigger is better. But now with gas prices on the rise the smaller sub-compact car is getting all the attention. Mazda brought over the 2012 Mazda2 to take on the likes to the Nissan Versa and Honda Fit. The Mazda2 is a bit more sporty and full of Zoom Zoom! There is no mistaking the 2012 Mazda2 for anything else with its bright green paint and front bumper with a huge smile. Mazda kept things simple when it comes to the Mazda2. The base price is $14,530 and the car is powered by a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 100 horsepower and 98 lb-ft. of torque.  Fuel economy checks in at 29 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. On the inside the Mazda features a driver focused cockpit. The seat is cushioned, the manual transmission is perfectly place, the gauges are easy to read, and the buttons are in the right place. The 2012 Mazda2 is frugal, fun to drive, and practical. It is a fantastic car. Mazda knows how to make a sporty car no matter the price point. 2012 Kia Rio review from Consumer Reports
Kia aims to make the Rio desirable for reasons beyond just a low price. The Kia Rio is stylish and offers upscale features. The Rio doesn't feel cheap, but it isn't best in class either. Read more about the Rio and other subcompact cars: http://bit.ly/GHLnEI

All-new for 2011, it continues Kia's march upmarket and benefits from smart, contemporary styling, generous space inside and an appealing engine range -- two diesels (1.1-litre and 1.4) and two petrols (1.25 and 1.4).

2012 Kia Rio EX Hatch Start Up, Quick Tour, & Rev With Exhaust View - 5K
2012 Kia Rio EX Hatch IT's powered by a 138 HP 1.6L DOHC 4 Cyl which is paired to a 6 speed auto. The Pro? Lots of legroom, appropriate gearbox, Bluetooth/Satellite radio, Rear disc Brakes, somewhat respectable interior which is some cases it better than some competitors. LOL Hear that Yaris??? Best going for the SX trim which looks far better with its large alloy wheels, better interior quality, & other options I did not like how unrefined the engine sounded when revved & so much engine noise intrudes into the cabin along with much engine vibrations. So its not only poor insulation but also how the engine is mounted. Lower section of the seat was quite flat, rear seat legroom can be cramped. Radio buttons looked so bland & cheap looking along with the ugly hubcaps on the EX trim. No Spare tire but it is optional which is the stupidest thing as theres no weight savings by ridding such a huge necessity.
