This is my first street bike. 1997 Kawasaki Ninja zx6r. Model ZX- 600F3. Purchased on October 2009 as a celebratory gift for myself when I graduated Cal Poly Pomona in Mechanical Engineering Technology on June 2009. My bike's name is Adaline. Never crashed :)
I must give credit to my father-in-law who found the bike for me to purchase from Fresno. Thanks Dad for finding her.
Picked up riding really quick. I would say riding and racing downhill mountain bikes helped a lot. So speed, balance, and maneuvering on the motorcycle came natural to me. I'm not saying I'm mint. There's always room for improvement.

Well, I was having fun until I crashed. I ended with a broken pelvis, 2 surgeries, one in left broken thumb and other on right shoulder, 5 stitches in my right elbow. Me estaba divirtiendo hasta que cai, acabe con la pelvis rota, 2 operaciones, una en el dedo gordo de la mano izquierda y otra en el hombro derecho, 5 puntos en el codo derecho.

First use with Go Pro and Editing program. Edited down the video since it was just a ride to Coronado Island for cupcakes at Coronado Cupcakery. Deleted straight aways and kept any turns. This video has a motorcycle view from the back to Coronado, going into the cupcakery, eating the cupcake with friends, and motorcycle view from the front returning home.
Riding with me is my husband on his new 2001 Honda RC51 that he just picked up yesterday :) Breaking in some miles.
Coronado Cupcakery Review:
I ordered the "Chocolate PB Jess" cupcake that the cupcakery described as a "chocolate cupcake with a creamy peanut butter core topped with a peanut butter frosting." The cupcake frosting has a moderate hint of peanut butter, really sugary and sweet and so close to the taste of store bought over processed frosting. If you love that, then the Peanut butter taste is definitely a plus. The cupcake itself was supposed to be chocolate with a core of peanut butter. The peanut butter was not in the core. It was a thick goop squished on the surface of the cupcake with peanut butter frosting on top. The chocolate cupcake itself was moist and good. No complaints there. The cupcakery listed interesting flavors on the board yet the cupcakery seriously failed on delivering those interesting tastes. I believe the cupcakes would taste much better if they either move their location or close the store doors and enclose their cupcakes. The store is located next to the ocean. With the salt and moisture in the air, those elements will take effect on the cupcakes by drying them out faster and allowing the sugar to crystallize. Instead of an expected smooth texture in the frosting, it becomes quite crumbly with first lick. Cupcakes are the average price $3.25 for one, $18 for 1/2 dozen and $34 for a dozen. Overall rating on Coronado Cupcakery: 3 out of 5. Nothing special, but it was good. I've been here twice now with a year in between. Still ranks on average.

You are free to disagree with his choice to not wear gear (I obviously agree), but keep it at least civil. Remember he's a fellow human being and a fellow rider. That said: This is why you wear your gear. It is also why you don't ride over your head, especially on the street.
It's a shame. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. You may disagree with his choice, but you have to concede it was his choice. You may not agree with his choice, but you have to agree it still sucks that this happened, regardless. Even pros make mistakes and we've all made stupid choices in our lives. The better measure of a man is how he learns from his mistakes.
This is one of the downsides to working in this industry and having so many friends and acquaintances who ride: you know more people who crash. Having lost 3 friends in the last 3 years to motorcycling, I'm just glad he walked (limped) away.
