5.0 V8 Lotus Seven replica (locost) very first start
Today marked the first start of the V8 Lotus Super Seven replica I've been building from the ground up. 2.5 years ago I started with nothing but some square steel tubing, wire welder, and angle grinder. From that, this was created. It still requires a body to be made... and paint... and a lot of other stuff, but this was a monumental step and a great Friday the 13th. Thanks to everyone that has supported me and helped me out. Few laps in my R500D following a slick-shod Ferrari 458 Challenge at Donnington. See my other vid following a faster black 458 Challenge. Set up the Vbox wrong so overlay wasn't working. Happily pulling 1.4-5g regularly with spikes on 1.7 at bottom of Craners curves.

Lotus (Caterham) Super Seven First Ride
Poor car had been sitting for quite a while. Drained out the old gas, put in some fresh high octane. Did an oil and filter change. Cranked it for a while with plugs out until oil pressure registered. After that it started right away and I got to take it for a run around the (startled) neighbourhood. Still needs a tuneup and maybe fiddling with jets or timing/advance curve. Engine is 1700 Ford crossflow in "Super Sprint" tune. You can really hear the straight cut gears! Camera is latest Go Pro HD mounted on roll bar. I will try it again with the open case so we can hear more engine noise.
