Build a Locost 7: Step 1 - Fabricate the Frame
Building a Locost 7 frame, at 240x speed acceleration. This is the start
of my build and represents roughly 50 hours of work between 4/21 and
4/28/2007 to construct the basic frame. Run at roughly 1000x fast forward,
it will only take you seven minutes.
My entire build log, with lots of specs, pictures, and info is at
Caterham R500 vs Ferrari 458 Challenge pt2
Few laps in my R500D following a slick-shod Ferrari 458 Challenge at
Donnington. See my other vid following a faster black 458 Challenge.
Set up the Vbox wrong so overlay wasn't working. Happily pulling 1.4-5g
regularly with spikes on 1.7 at bottom of Craners curves.

Locost Adjustable Front Suspension - Part 1 of 3 - Lower Control Arms
A simple approach to an adjustable front suspension for a locost sevenesque
roadster . You can build a double wishbone suspension using off-the-shelf
parts and nearly any donor with just a tape measure and this simple DIY
process. The key to this solution is adjustability in those components
that matter the most (and that you can realistically control).
Lotus (Caterham) Super Seven First Ride
Poor car had been sitting for quite a while. Drained out the old gas, put
in some fresh high octane. Did an oil and filter change. Cranked it for a
while with plugs out until oil pressure registered. After that it started
right away and I got to take it for a run around the (startled)
neighbourhood. Still needs a tuneup and maybe fiddling with jets or
timing/advance curve. Engine is 1700 Ford crossflow in "Super Sprint" tune.
You can really hear the straight cut gears! Camera is latest Go Pro HD
mounted on roll bar. I will try it again with the open case so we can hear
more engine noise.
