Bugatti Veyron CHASE! R8 V10 Spyder left behind...
My Audi R8 V10 Spyder was no match for the Bugatti Veyron but made for a hugely enjoyable drive! At last week's The Supercar Kids' event, Jay Broom (aka JayKayBi) offered the chance to spend the day with something rather special, a Bugatti Veyron! And not just any Veyron, the 16.4 Coupe belonging to Lord Pembroke of Wilton House, home of the annual Wilton Classic and Supercars event, one of my personal favourite events in the annual car calendar taking place each August. Wilton is also home to the soon to commence 'Wilton Wakeup' events, kicking off in spring 2013 they will be Sunday morning gatherings for car nuts in the West of England, more information is to follow on that front! The Veyron itself is wrapped in a Gulf-inspired livery, created by radio-controlled-car painter Ian Cook of PopBangColour and placed on the car to promote the Wilton Classic and Supercars event. A Quicksilver Sports Exhaust system is also installed in the Bugatti, giving it extra noise; an area the car is often criticised. The sound it made on first start from cold certainly took me by surprise! Synthetic Oil Basics
Technically, Synthetic Oil originates as traditional mineral based motor oil. What separates the two is the level of advanced engineering, refinement and criteria that goes into this modern engine lubricant. In short, there is no other routine maintenance contributor that can provide better protection, performance and longevity than today's Synthetic Motor Oils Extreme Weather Protection: Under early morning sub-zero winter starts or summertime high temperature stop-and-go traffic, Synthetic Oils are engineered to deliver vital engine protection and reliable performance year-round. Cold Weather Pour Test: In this laboratory test, a Synthetic-Oil and a Synthetic-Mineral-Blend have been frozen overnight at minus 40 below. This pour test illustrates conclusively the cold-start readiness of Synthetic Oil. Even after six minutes, the blended oil can't keep up. And, those white globs you see are wax - a standard component of conventional mineral-based motor oil. Clearly, Synthetic oil is the best way to ensure that your vital engine components are adequately lubricated during cold cranking. New & Old With very few exceptions, Synthetic Oil is a wise choice for all new and older vehicles. Modern engine components are built to higher tolerances and levels of precision and the superior lubricating properties of Synthetic Oil deliver the finest day-to-day protection against wear. Older-engines, performance-engines and power-plants-under-heavy-load can all benefit from the advanced lubrication and low-abrasion attributes of Synthetic Oil. In all situations, engine seals and gaskets are protected and remain pliable and effective. Compliance: All major auto manufacturers support and specify the use of API certified lubricants and Synthetic Motor Oil meets and even exceeds all standards and criteria. The advanced additives developed for Synthetic Oil help contribute to cleaner and more efficient operation during the entire span of the recommended oil change interval. Factory Warranties remain intact, un-compromised and supported. In any case, the best warranty is the one you never have to use and proper routine maintenance is an effective way to achieve that long-term goal. Always check your manual and adhere to the manufacturer's recommended grade. Compatibility: Today's Synthetic Motor Oil is fully compatible with traditional mineral based oil. This means that you can safely upgrade to synthetic oil... or in a pinch, switch back or partially top-up with conventional mineral oil. Longevity: When you factor-in a decrease in engine wear and fuel consumption, upgrading to Synthetic Oil can add up to long term savings and better performance throughout the life of your vehicle. Ultimately, the goal is for fewer repairs, so that you and your car can spend more of your valuable time on the road and not in the shop. Since they were first commercially introduced in the mid seventies, Synthetic Motor Oils have constantly evolved to serve the needs of motorist and the cars they drive. Today, there is no better choice than Synthetic Motor Oils for maintaining engine reliability, performance and protection. Canadian Tire has the selection, service and know-how to help you with all your engine lubricant and maintenance needs.

Koenigsegg Agera R owns Bugatti Veyron
To be fair I haven't driven the Veyron yet. However I can not imagine anyone in their right mind would attempt to drive a Veyron as the Agera is driven in the video. At the Bugattis 4200 lb curb weight I cant imagine this level of handling. The Agera R achieves 1.6 lateral G's on street tires. (1.8g's on Pilot sport cup tires). Pretty awesome stuff from the cutting room floor. Super Speeders 7 coming out December 1st. BMW M3 / RWD vs other cars in a snow race - Winter tyre vs summer tyres
Update: The M3 VS a 4x4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STaximkaQxo Perhaps one of the worst cars on snow, an automatic (SMG) BMW M3 with 255/35 R19 rear tyres in a "race" against various other vehicles. The first one to the top of the small, snow covered incline wins. Traction control turned off in the M3 and always started in 1st gear. Oh, and the M3 has Michelin Pilot Alpin 4 UHP winter tyres. In order of "race" appearance: 1) M3 vs BMW 118d Manual. Drive wheels are new 245/35 R18 Nankang NS20 summer tyres 2) M3 vs Ford KA. Drive wheels are 165/35 R13 budget summer tyres 3) M3 vs BMW 118d with extra weight over the rear wheels 4) M3 vs VW Passat Manual with an extra runup. Drive wheels are new 205/55 R16 Dunlop SP Sport summer tyres Apologies for the quick editing.

Cross Country in a Gasser 1955 Chevy with a Hemi! - Roadkill Ep. 30
On this episode of Roadkill, it's 2,600 miles, 530 cubic inches, 700 horsepower, six speeds, 17 mpg, and two fun visits with some friends from TV. Last time, on Roadkill Episode 29, we finished our Chrysler-Hemi-powered 1955 Chevrolet gasser in about two weeks of thrashing (it's the same car you saw us take, as a bare shell, to Jim Meyer Racing in Oregon in Episode 8). On this latest episode, we drive it around the block once, then hit the road on a 2,600-mile journey from Los Angeles to the kickoff party of the 2014 HOT ROD Power Tour in Concord, North Carolina. On the way, there's the breakdowns you expect from Roadkill, plus two surprises: a stop at Midwest Street Cars with Justin "Big Chief" Shearer and Shawn "Murder Nova" Ellington from Street Outlaws, and another with Rutledge Wood from Top Gear USA.   The '55 Chevy is based on an original body with new quarters and floors and a fiberglass decklid and tilt front end, and Lexan windows from ProGlass. It's not in primer: the car was wrapped in satin black by Moody from High-Tech Auto Wraps. The car sits on a complete gasser chassis from Jim Meyer Racing with a solid front axle on leaf springs and a ladder-bar setup with Vicking coilovers on the rear. The rear tires are reproduction Firestone piecrust slicks from Coker tire, and the fronts are just like stock VW Bug tires.  The engine is a 530ci Hemi based on a Mopar Performance crate engine. With a Comp solid roller cam, 10.5:1 compression, homemade 2-1/4-inch headers from a Hedman kit, and Hilborn stack injection powered by a FAST XFI controller and Aeromotive fuel system, it makes 700 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. We were stunned to see 17 mpg a few times on the cross-country trip, especially with absurd 5.43 gears in the Ford 9-inch rear axle. The key to it all is the Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual double-overdrive trans installed with a conversion kit from American Powertrain. The car uses a Speedwires harness, charging and starting by Powermaster, and a Braille lightweight battery in the trunk.
