At RK Motors Charlotte, we like our Pontiacs rare, fast and well-optioned.
If you're like us, then you'll love this 1970 GTO Ram Air III convertible.
One of just 114 automatic Ram Air III convertibles built in 1970, this car
is rare before you even look at the extensive option list. With over 33
options selected, this is one of most well-dressed GTO's we've ever seen.
The recipient of a frame off restoration, this Pontiac wears its coat of
Verdoro Green well. Expertly sprayed over laser straight panels, the body
is free of any major imperfections. Panel fitment is even all around and
the doors shut with very little effort. Bright green Judge-style eyebrow
stripes contrast well against the dark green, giving the GTO an aggressive
From the factory, there was very little brightwork on these cars but the
few pieces it has look great. From the mirror to the rocker trim to the
rear bumper, all trim is free of rust, waves or any other imperfections.
Should you ever find a reason to put the top up, you'll be pleasantly
surprised by a well-fitting fully operational black vinyl top. All glass is
as show-friendly as the rest of the car.
Under the hood is a verified numbers matching 400 cubic inch Ram Air III V8
underrated at 335 horsepower. Built to factory
specifications, everything from the Light Blue Metallic Paint to the decals
on the A/C compressor look showroom fresh. The powerplant breathes through
cast iron Exhaust manifolds and United
mufflers that give this Goat a great vintage rumble.
Backing the 400 is a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to
a 10-bolt rear end with 3.23 gears. Suspension is handled by the stock
double A-arm set up out front while the factory 4-link keeps the rear tires
planted. When it comes time to stop, the JL2 power front disc brakes and
power rear drums bring things to a halt with ease. The car rides on 14"
Rally II wheels wrapped in 215/70 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
Inside, you'll find one of the most luxurious interiors we've seen in a
GTO. The speedometer, clock, and gas gauge are housed in a bezel featuring
the same wood applique as the console. Below that, an engine turned panel
houses the Delco push-button radio, controls for the power top, a lighter
and the windshield washer switch. Under the steering column, the Ram Air
lever is hidden from plain sight. Every piece of stainless from the door
trim to seat trim looks absolutely mint and, when combined with the black
vinyl, gives the interior a remarkably upscale feel.
Documentation includes 3 original build sheets as well as documentation
from Pontiac Historic Services.
If you've dreamed of owning a unique Pontiac that will drive well, show
well and turn heads for years to come, this 1970 GTO Ram Air III
convertible is the car you've been waiting for. Call, click or visit

1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible
The Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of
General Motors from 1964 to 1974. It was a muscle car classic of the 1960s
In early 1963, General Motors' management issued a ban on involvement in
auto racing. At the time, Pontiac's advertising and marketing approach was
heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that
strategy. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's young and
visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street
performance. The GTO was basically a violation of GM policy, but since the
GTO was an option package and not standard equipment, it fell into a
loophole in the policy.
The GTO underwent a few styling changes in 1967. The louver-covered tail
lights were replaced with eight tail lights, four on each side. The GTO
emblems located on the rear part of the fenders were moved to the chrome
rocker panels. Also the grill was changed from a purely split grill, to one
that shared some chrome. 9,517 GTO Convertibles were produced in 1967.
This is one of the most beautiful GTO's you'll ever see. The previous owner
passed away while in the process of restoring this car, and after his death
his widow had the car finished. The restoration was completed about 3 years
ago. Everything from the drive train, to the interior to the paint is new,
and it has the appearance of a show car.
The original Protect-O Plate and Owners Manual are included in the sale.

1970 PONTIAC GTO, THE JUDGE
YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THIS EXCELLENT GTO, THE JUDGE. SPECTACULAR IN
APPEARANCE, IN 1970 PONTIAC WANTED TO SPICE UP THE GTO BRAND AND THIS IS
THE RESULT. THE DECKLID AIRFOIL AND VIBRANT STRIPING WAS INTENDED TO
DIFFERENTIATE THE JUDGE FROM THE OTHER GTO MODELS. POWER OPTIONS WERE THE
366 BHP RAM AIR ENGINE OF 400 CUBE INCHES. LATER IN THE MODEL YEAR THE 360
HORSE, 455 CUBE BECAME AVAILABLE. PRODUCTION OF THE JUDGE AMOUNTED TO
3,629 2-DOOR HARDTOPS AND 168 CONVERTIBLES. AND YET, STANDARD GTO'S SOLD
TEN TIMES THE JUDGE PRODUCTION. SO, A RUN OF JUST OVER 3,700 UNITS MAKES
ANY JUDGES, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION, A VERY RARE CAR INDEED. BUT
THEN IN 1971 PRODUCTION OF JUDGES TOTALED JUST 374 COUPES AND CONVERTIBLES.
BY 1972 GTO WAS DROPPED INCLUDING JUDGES AND THE TRANS AM WAS INTRODUCED
IN 1972 AS THE PONTIAC MUSCLE CAR. THIS EXAMPLE HAS 24,000 MILES ON THE
RAM AIR ENGINE AND HAS A HURST SHIFTER. THE ENGINE DETAIL, THE INTERIOR,
AND THE JUDGE GRAPHICS ON THIS ARE PERFECT. ENJOY THIS TOUR OF A FIRST
YEAR THE JUDGE AND THANKS VERY MUCH FOR VIEWING THIS RARE CAR.

Wide-Track: 1959 Bonneville - /BIG MUSCLE
• Chuck Cushner
Slathered in Lamborghini orange paint and exuding a presence that is
anything but subtle, this 1959 Bonneville is a car that represents a peak
time in American automotive design. It was drafted before government
mandates and regulations stifled imagination and creativity, and takes us
back to an era when we still looked to the stars for inspiration. This is a
car that will stop you dead in your tracks and make you truly long for the
days when chrome was King, gas was a mere .25¢ per gallon, and where Elvis
Presley was the greatest thing the public had ever heard.
