while, thanks! In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2009
Cadillac XLR-V. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and
exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and
noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine
and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under
acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a
greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

The Billy Boat Fusion is a bi-modal Exhaust system, meaning it has two passages, or
modes, that the Exhaust can travel
through the muffler. Each of the mufflers has two outlets, with one side
having a butterfly-type valve which allows the Exhaust flow to be shut off, regulating which
side of the muffler the Exhaust flows
out of. One side of the muffler is the "quiet" side, and one side is the
"loud" side. The "quiet" side is a smaller, muffled and chambered tube,
while the "loud" side is 3" tubing straight through.

For those who wanted to go really fast and be coddled while doing it,
Cadillac created the XLR-V convertible, which was produced from 2006 to
2009. The V at the end of the car's moniker indicated that it was a
performance variant of Cadillac's XLR, but it could've easily stood for
viciously quick and very luxurious.
Viciously quick came courtesy of this Cadillac's supercharged V8, which
could send you hurtling from zero to 60 in less than 5 seconds. Taking a
cue from European ultraluxury manufacturers, Cadillac gave each V8 a
personal touch, with each being built from start to finish by a single
craftsman. Very luxurious was the end result of the wealth of standard
features that came on the Cadillac XLR-V roadster. Adaptive cruise control,
heated steering wheel, head-up display and a voice-activated navigation
system are just a few examples of the latter.
Unfortunately, the XLR-V just didn't stack up to its similarly priced
rivals from Germany, Britain and even within General Motors itself. The
XLR-V may have been vicious, but it lacked the slick handling, high levels
of refinement and interior furnishings others offered.
Most Recent Cadillac XLR-V
Designed to facilitate wind-tousled tresses and sun-kissed cheeks, the
Cadillac XLR-V was available only as a two-seat convertible with a
retractable hardtop. Aside from its high-performance innards, this special
XLR was distinguished from its less spirited sibling by a unique front
grille and a sculpted hood designed to accommodate the 443-horsepower V8's Supercharger. Sent to the rear wheels via a
manually shiftable six-speed automatic, all that thrust was good enough to
catapult the XLR-V to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
The XLR-V came one way -- fully loaded and was essentially unchanged during
its four-year production run. Perks like Bluetooth phone connectivity,
heated leather seats and adaptive cruise control were all standard. The
XLR-V's power-retractable hardtop could go from closed to open (and
vice-versa) in about 30 seconds. Though the XLR-V's interior was
attractive, trimmed with gleaming aluminum accents and burnished exotic
wood, it was still subpar compared to its similarly priced rivals. Also,
the cockpit was somewhat tight for taller drivers and cargo room was
limited as well.
During our time in the XLR-V, we found ourselves swept away on a wave of
raw power as the XLR was eager to leap to attention at the slightest tap of
the throttle. Its Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension was tuned to be
sportier than it was on the standard XLR and indeed provided sharper
handling seemingly with no penalty in ride comfort. But compared to its
more athletic and refined European rivals, the XLR-V still came up a bit
short as its steering was overly heavy and its handling wasn't as agile.

The Cadillac brand is one of the most notable American icons with its long
line of noteworthy automobiles. Since its inception over 100 years ago,

The 443 horsepower
engine is responsive and extremely powerful with its 4.4L liter
displacement and six-speed automatic transmission. It will likely be
difficult for you to avoid giving the car plenty of juice just because of
the wonderful growl that escapes the Exhaust and the spectacular connection between
driver and road. Let's not forget that this is a convertible! The power
hard top goes up and down with ease. To help you see where you're going,
the XLR-V is outfitted with HID head lamps with washers and Twilight
Sentinel. An additional safety feature are the fog lamps. The aggressive
and stunning look of the car is emphasized by the 19" wheels with
accompanying tires in good condition! These wheels along with the
performance tuned suspension help to improve the already outstanding
handling so much that you will be begging for curves. This is truly one
fine looking car. It also comes with the remainder of its four year/50,000
mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five year/60,000 mile powertrain
INTERIOR: When you enter the cabin of this automobile, you'll immediately
understand why the XLR-V is one of the nicest American sport convertibles.
The EBONY leather bucket seats are in great condition as are the matching
mats and carpet. The seats feature eight way adjustment so that you will be
completely stable and comfortable. The leather also carries over to the
tilt steering wheel which has controls for the Driver Information Center
and cruise control. Helping you stay comfortable on chilly days, you'll
love the dual heated seats to keep you toasty. The navigation system is
spectacular and will assist you in reaching your destinations easily and
quickly. This unit also controls the Bose premium sound system which
includes AM/FM stereo, six disc CD changer, and nine speakers. With the
keyless ignition system, you can leave your key in your pocket and still
start the car. The vehicle will detect the key and with just the push of a
button the engine will roar to life. Thanks to the rear park assist system,
you will have audible alerts to what is behind you to help you avoid
needlessly backing into things that may be just outside of your normal
view. The Head Up display will certainly come in handy. You wont have to
take your eyes off the road to keep tabs on how fast you're driving. A
convenient read-out will reflect right onto the windshield so you'll always
be in the know. What awesome features! Some other great assets in your new
XLR-V are: dual climate control, tire pressure monitor system, power locks,
power windows, cruise control, V-series trim, universal garage door
transmitter, and cup holders. Your car also comes with factory mats, books,
and one key.

It's five and a half feet long. It weighs 8.8 pounds. Height of an adult
female, weight of a gallon or so of gas—these are the critical dimensions
of the carbon-fiber driveshaft running between the engine and the
rear-mounted transaxle in the new Mercedes SLS AMG. We note this here
because, despite the car's retro-gullwing looks, the SLS is utterly
bleeding edge—both in terms of its technical attributes and what it
represents for Mercedes' in-house tuner. It is not simply a Mercedes with
bigger wheels and a breathed-upon V-8 or V-12. It is, down to its churning
carbon-fiber core, AMG's first dedicated automobile and the very antithesis
of the overly complex and overweight half-million-dollar Mercedes SLR
"The SLS is a serious super sports car," says AMG chief of development
Tobias Moers before taking a shot at the SLR, a carbon-fiber-bodied car
that still managed to weigh in at 3858 pounds. "Our SLS weighs only 3572
pounds," he says, nearly 300 pounds lighter than the McMerc. Keeping the
182.6-inch-long, two-seat SLS's mass in check is its entirely aluminum
construction (save for that driveshaft and steel A-pillars), a first for
Mercedes-Benz. The aluminum structure weighs just 531 pounds, Mercedes
The most distinctive aspect of the SLS's appearance is, of course, its
roof-hinged gullwing doors, an homage to the iconic 300SL Gullwing. But AMG
personnel took pains to point out that the doors are the only thing the SLS
has in common with the 300SL. "We do not build a retro car at all!" AMG
boss Volker Mornhinweg explains sharply. "In fact, we think it is the most
advanced super sports car you can buy today."
Those gullwing doors look spectacular. Unlike with the original SL, where
one had to slide over a wide sill because of the space-frame structure
underneath, it's easy to access the SLS's cabin. There's only one issue:
Riders need long arms to reach the distant handles at the bottom of each
door to pull them closed.
The interior is simple and uncluttered, much like a current SL roadster's.
While the car's structure is a pure AMG design, most of the parts, except
for the shifter, are from the Mercedes bin. The instrument cluster is clear
and easy to read, and we love the round HVAC vents. The center console has
an aluminum finish, with carbon fiber an option.
Press the starter button on the center console, and the now-familiar,
AMG-designed 6.2-liter V-8 awakens with an angry yelp. The idle is deep,
and the revs rise and fall race-car swiftly. Code-named M159, the engine is
basically a reengineered version of the M156 unit that's fitted to AMG's
"63" models. The M159 comes with an all-new magnesium intake, forged
pistons in place of cast ones, and optimized tubular Exhaust headers. The engineers also switched
from a wet sump to a dry arrangement, allowing the engine to be mounted
lower to benefit the SLS's center of gravity. The maximum output of 563 horsepower is
delivered at 6800 rpm, and peak torque of 479 pound-feet comes at 4750 rpm.
In order to satisfy emissions standards—EU5, LEVII, ULEV—the Bosch ME
9.7 AMG engine management is set up to recharge the battery during
deceleration. It's another way of trying to eke out decent fuel economy,
which, based on Mercedes' European estimates, should equate to roughly 13
mpg city and 20 highway.
