1935 International C1 Pickup - Fly/In Cruise/In
Program #58 Part #2
Fly/In Cruise/In Video Magazine
Take a look with us at this pristine 1935 International C1 Pickup.
After working 40 years for International, Joe Maloni thought it only
fitting to find a International Pickup to restore. Locating this truck in
a Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Joe traveled 1100 miles one way to
find this vehicle. Join us as Joe Maloni from Huntington, Indiana tells us
how this International C Series Pickup was restored.

RARE TRUCK - '51 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER
INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER, IHC, HAD THE LONG HISTORY OF MANUFACTURING FARM
IMPLEMENTS. WANTING TO GET THEIR SHARE OF THE PICK UP TRUCK MARKET IN
COMPETITION AGAINST FORD, CHEVROLET, GMC, IHC JUMPED INTO THE TRUCK MARKET.
AMERICAN FARMERS, AND LATER FOREIGN FARMERS, COULD NOW PURCHASE THEIR FARM
IMPLEMENTS AND BUY A FARM TRUCK FROM THE SAME DEALER. IHC CONCENTRATED ON
PICKUP TRUCKS AT FIRST BUT THE PRODUCTION EVOLVED INTO HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS
AND EVEN "WOODY" STATION WAGONS. IHC CONTINUED IN THE TRUCK MARKET WELL
INTO THE SEVENTIES BY PRODUCING THE STEEL STATION WAGON,TRAVELALL, A
COMPETITION AGAINST THE CHEVY SUBURBAN. VIEWING THIS EXCELLENT EXAMPLE YOU
WILL NOTICE THE SPARTAN INTERIOR OF THIS MODEL L-110 AND THE SIMPLE 6
CYLINDER 220 CID STANDARD ENGINE HIDDEN UNDER THE TILTING HOOD. THIS
ENGINE PRODUCED 85 H.P. ENOUGH FOR IT'S PURPOSE TO WORK HARD ON A FARM. I
MYSELF, HAVE DRIVEN A '52 IH 2 1/2 TON VAN YEARS AGO FOR MY EMPLOYER. LET
ME TELL YOU, THAT TRUCK HAD 220M ON THE ENGINE AND RAN LIKE A RACEHORSE.
IT NEVER BROKE DOWN AND NO REPAIR ISSUES AT ALL. COMPARED TO THE
ANTIQUE FORD AND CHEVY TRUCKS YOU MIGHT HAPPEN TO COME UPON, YOU WILL
SELDOM EVER SEE AN INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER PICKUP OR FLATBED/STAKEBED
MAKING THIS EXAMPLE TRULY RARE. another rare vehicle brought to you by
