--90,000 original miles
--Optional 304-CID International V8 engine
--Factory dual Exhaust
--Rare factory rear bumper
--Original owner's manual and line sheet included
--International truck models brochure and original sales ad included
MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this beautifully restored 1965
International Harvester 1200 pickup truck with what are believed to be
90,977 original miles. According to previous accounts, this truck was only
used by the previous owner for hunting and fishing trips, and it shows.
The 1200 was part of a series of light-duty pickup trucks produced by
agricultural specialist International Harvester from the early '30s to
early '70s. This truck you see pictured before you has benefitted from an
The exterior is a correct Bahama Blue Iridium that glistens in the
afternoon sun. It appears the bed has been removed during the restoration
process, and this International truck comes with the rare factory rear
bumper. This is a solid-bodied truck with an extremely dry and solid
underside. Photos detailing the restoration process are included. This
light-duty truck sits on four International Harvester wheels wrapped in
Cooper Sam II Radial tires measuring 7.50R16LT.
The interior contains a gem with the line sheet attached to the driver's
sunvisor. This line sheet is a piece of history as it shows what options
this truck left the IH factory in 1965. The interior has had some
restoration work as the seats are the correct vinyl/cloth combination and
pattern and are a Vapor Grey color. The optional left and right arm rests
show some wear but appear to be original. The gauges are all original as
well, perfectly combining the retro feel with the modern restoration.
Though this was marketed as a light-duty truck, this 1200 has the optional
heavy-duty 304-CID International Harvester V8 engine painted in its classic
Harvester Orange. This engine is mated with a T-15 manual transmission, and
the limited-slip differential will help with any off-road jobs. The line
sheet also says this truck left the factory with hydraulic brakes.
This solid truck was reportedly used for only hunting and fishing by its
previous owner, and the mileage currently reads 90,977 and is believed to
be actual. This is an astounding IH pickup that will go great in any
collection. VIN is SB40365B, and it is being sold on a clear Oregon title.

Antique 1909 "Hit and Miss" International Harvester L-A Engine runs again.
* When Derrick told me he had this engine and that it was known as A
hit-and-miss engine, I had to run over and see it. If you like to see old
engines run, this is one of those moments.
The engine is a four-stroke internal combustion engine that was conceived
in the late 19th century and was produced by various companies from the
1890s through approximately the 1940s.
The name came from the method of speed control that was implemented on
these engines (as opposed to the "Governor" method of speed control).
The sound made when the engine is running without a load is a distinctive
"POP POP" as the engine fires and then coasts until the speed decreases.
When it reaches the low speed, it fires again to maintain it's average
Hit-and-miss engines were made by a multitude of engine manufacturers
during their peak usage which was from approximately 1910 through the early
1930s when they began to be replaced by more modern designs. Some of the
largest engine manufacturers were Hercules, International Harvester
(McCormick Deering), John Deere, and Fairbanks Morse.
This particular engine belongs to Derrick Petersen, who you may remember
piloted Jeff and I around in his RV8a while I made a video of his plane
The engine is an INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER
IHC-McCormick-Deering Model 'LA' & 'LB' 1-1/2 to 2-1/2HP and 3 to 5HP
LA is the earlier model and was made in two sizes-1-1/2 to 2-1/2 HP and 3
to 5 HP. The LB is the later model and was also made in two sizes, 1-1/2 to
2-1/2 HP and 3 to 5 HP. The easiest way to tell the difference is by a tag
by the valve rockers. The valve rocker arms on the LA models were oiled by
an oil cup on the end of the valve rocker shaft. The LB models were self
oiling with a tube coming out of the front of the block going into an oil
trough filled with felt above the rockers. Just about everything
interchanges between both models if they are the same HP.

purchase quality Tractor, Combine Harvester and Farm Machinery DVD's
At their peak the International Harvester Company was reputed to be the
largest and most influential farm equipment manufacturer of the 20th
century. These promotional and information films make up the fifth in a
series of DVD programmes featuring agricultural machinery manufactured by
International Harvester - a reminder of their heyday in which all things
During this time many marvelous machines were built with British, American
and German factories creating the iconic tractors that we know and love
today. We go right back with a wonderful old film demonstrating the immense
pulling power of the TD18 crawler, also the B414 tractor making light of
powering a B47 baler. The very popular 84 series machines are featured with
the latest in transmission and cab technology and offering four wheel drive
as a factory fitted option. Plus a unique film illustrating the advantages
of going big - with the enormous IH 4586.
Certainly International Harvester was a force to be reckoned with in the
middle part of the 20th century and these old movies go a long way to
capturing a flavour of that success.
