74 Chevy Nova Update 47 - Bare Metal Cowl Hood
Took off all of the E-coating down to bare metal on the Cowl hood. Did my minor body work and prepped for paint. With this being the last panel, I have officially taken the entire car down to bare metal!! (Every body panel)
74 Chevy Nova Update 2 - Body work preview
I just show the dents I had on the passenger side quarter panel of my 74 Nova resto project. I used Metal 2 Metal body filler.
74 Chevy Nova Update 14 - Jamb painting
Finally some COLOR! I show the jamb painting from masking to complete. Velocity Red Mica is the color and its Urethane Base with Clear Coat. Red Oxide Sealer was used as well to help with overage.
Metal Prep and Primer part 2
Finishing up the metal prep work then sealing it with Epoxy primer, and Polyester primer.
74 Chevy Nova Update 11 - Block Sanding Doors #2 with Timelapse
Here I block sand my Door panels for the second time. When I reprimed the doors, I added extra paint to the lows so that I can block sand the doors smooth. I show this in this video with timelapse of the actual sanding process from start to finish.
1974 Chevy Nova Project - Part 1
Found some old footage of my Nova before I sold it. I put a lot of work into it to get it back on the road and drivable, but in the end I couldn't afford to keep it and my jeep, with no place to work on either one.
It's a 74 with a 250 straight 6 and an automatic. Basic, with no options, but the body was straight except for minor rust in the lower fenders.
74 Chevy Nova Update 9 - Bare metal Doors & Epoxy Primer
I took the Doors down to bare metal (including window channels and weatherstripping channels) than did the body work. Since I like the sport mirrors look, I bought some Camaro mirrors (There are no Reproduction Nova Sport mirrors available). These mirrors were listed for the Chevy Nova. Did the retrofitting and primed with 3 coats of Epoxy primer.
1973 Mach 1 Mustang stripped to bare metal
We had to strip out 1973 Mach 1 to continue the restoration process. It is a small part in the overall process, but we had to get as much done as possible before we sent it back to our restorer for the next stage.
