After much weeding through endless chopped wire harnesses and assembly
I was finally able to get the Gnarly 928 from PACWEST running and growling.The Motec M48 was wired ass backwards as were alot of other things but I was able to sort it out and get a basic fuel and timing MAP thanks to the infamous professor Louie Ott. The learning curve will be steep but I think I should be able to nail it down.
Cam timing is at 1' retarded on left bank and 1' advanced on right bank just for starters then dial them in with compression. Got to love the sound of them ITB's!

Porsche 928 weekend at Cothill and Brooklands in the UK April 2011.
A short film of a Porsche 928 weekend organised by the 928 section of the
Porsche Club of Great Britain. The first meeting point was the Merry
Miller pub at Cothill just outside Oxford. After this, the next day was
spent at the legendary Brooklands racing circuit just outside London.
Brooklands was completed in 1907 and held its last race in 1939. Now it's
a museum and only some of the racing track remains. I travelled there in
my own 928 which is a 1989 S4 5.0L.
Bonneville Porsche 928 Record
This video shows our record-breaking land speed run in the Porsche 928. It
combines in-car video, starting line, and a drive-by video that was being
shot at the 3-mile mark. You can hear Carl testing the limits of available
traction 3 times.... as he pushes into the throttle until the tires break,
then modulates and pushes in again. There is no lifting out of the throttle
at these speeds unless you want to go 'round! Final speed attained for the
world 928 record was 216.63537 MPH
Water Pump Test Stand Demo.avi
Instead of installing each water pump on a car and driving it to test it,we
quickly put together a test stand using a 928 radiator and an old 4.5
engine we had from an old junker.Mounted a 230 volt 3 HP motor to a
bracket and put some idler pulleys on it and put studs on the pump mounting
holes.silicone the gasket surface and mount the pump.Fill with water and
let it run for over an hour.This will lets us test the seal and pump drive
and seat in the bearings and seals and should warn us of any issues.The
actual pulley sizes equal a 2.125 drive ratio causing the pump to spin at
almost 7400 rpm.This will also come in handy as we develop different
impeller designs and will allow us to be able to measure volume as well.
Speed GT lap with a Porsche 928 485RWHP
Mark Anderson brought out his 928 race car in 2004 in the "GT3RS" livery,
sporting a new carbon-fiber intake making 485 RWHP.

TURBINE-POWERED PORSCHE 928
We installed a turbine engine in a stock porsche 928 and turned it into a
fire-breathing beast. The engine is a Boeing T50-BO-12 and it is mated to
the stock automatic transmission with a simple gearbox that drops the
shaft. We then added an afterburner system by injecting jet fuel into the

On this week's Ignition, Carlos Lago has a second go at Porsche's 918
hypercar. The goal: to run the 918 through the full gauntlet of MT's
instrumented testing, including 0-60, quarter mile, braking, figure 8, and
a blistering real-time hot lap around Big Willow race track with pro driver
Randy Pobst. Carlos also gets a rare chance to experience the 918's
ancestor, the Porsche 959. The 959 was a remarkable piece of automobile
history that was decades ahead of its time with much of it's technology
only appearing in common vehicles within the last ten years or so. The 918
attempts something very similar, featuring very advanced technology,
including a naturally aspirated V8 that works with a seamlessly integrated
electric motor to provide extra Boost. Can Porsche's new hypercar achieve the
same effect that its predecessor did? Only time will tell, but stay tuned
for the record-breaking review.
