Here you can watch a stock Corvette Z06 racing a stock Yamaha R1.
You can watch 3 attempts:
First try the Corvette Driver has 3rd gear with very low RPM way far from the power and torque curve to accelerate the car sufficiently. So the R1 pulls away easily and keeps a steady distance until the Vette driver changes to 4th gear and starts diminishing the distance....but he misses the gear change to 5th....you can hear the really ugly noise....so try is aborted.
Second try is the same as the previous one being on 3rd gear again, but with higher rpm around 4500. Corvette stays much closer with the R1 this time and seems that when driver changes to 4th gear it would start pulling away, but traffic scared the R1 rider so he aborted.
There were 2 persons in the Vette and the fuel tank was full, which means around 1650 kgr in total.
Third try you can watch the Corvette playing with the R1 at high speeds. R1 is accelerating from 250 km/h to 290 km/h when the Corvette overtakes the bike easily at around 270 km/h pulling away really fast on 5th gear hitting a top speed of more than 320 km/h for quite a long time.....Driver didn't try changing to 6th gear because the engine seemed healthy and strong towards 7000 rpm red limit mark.
Stay tuned with www.GreekDragster.info because in 2008 we are going to show you some of the fastest cars and bikes on this planet.
