The wheelbase has been lengthened by 1.4 inches, but more significantly, the engine is now an all-new 4.5-liter V8 engine that Boosts horsepower up by 70 from last year's model bringing the grand total to 370. If you're looking for smooth acceleration and accessible power behind the wheel of your sport utility vehicle, the FX50 is tough automobile to beat. The interior is beautiful and features many complementary amenities; there is a 11-speaker Bose sound-system which includes XM satellite radio and a navigation screen that offers real-time traffic info and voice-recognition software. Couple this with one of the best safety-ratings in its class and an intelligent Brake Assist system capable of automatically braking your vehicle in emergencies, and you have standard a package that will fit any need of your driving experience. Roadfly.com - 2011 Lexus IS-F Road Test & Review
The 2011 Lexus IS-F may not look so different than IS-Fs of the past four years, but thorough re-tuning of its suspension has finally transformed it into a complete sports sedan. This isn't your mother's Lexus! The IS-F scorches the tarmac with 416 hp from its 5.0L Yamaha-tuned V8. The redline is 6800rpm, but you can tell the motor wants to pull to 8k and beyond. It produces 371 lb.-ft. of torque at 5200 rpm, and at around 4000 rpm you can hear a noticeable cam phase, like that of a Honda VTEC motor or any of Yamaha's other high-performance street-car motors found in Ford and Toyota products over the years. That somewhat peaky powerband gives the car a very racy feeling, and the 8-speed automatic does a commendable job of getting the power down. The IS-F rockets to 60mph in 4.2 seconds, yet the 8 speeds allow it to achieve decent fuel economy (16/23) and dodge the gas guzzler tax. The addition of a Torsen limited-slip differential, as well as the suspension upgrades, combined to knock off around 8 seconds from the car's lap time at VIR, putting it nearly equal with the vaunted BMW M3. It also equals or bests our tester M3's equipment levels while costing nearly $7000 less. Well done, Lexus. —Ross Rapoport, Road Test Editor and Video Host Visit http://roadflytv.com for more photos and a downloadable window sticker. 2012 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid Test Drive & Luxury Crossover SUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/lexus/rx-450h/2012/?id=32972 The 2012 Lexus 450h is a crossover luxury SUV that is not only great to drive, but it also has excellent fuel economy ratings. The RX series has been a wonderful selling line of luxury crossovers since 1998 and the Hybrid model sits at or near the top of the list of most fuel efficient SUVs year after year. And the Lexus RX 450h is an AutoPacific 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Award winner. The RX 450h comes in 2 different trim levels. The first is the FWD model which has a base price of $45,235. The second is the AWD model which has a base price of $46,825. The RX hybrid is powered by an Atkinson cycle 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 245 horsepower and 244 lb-ft. of torque. The hybrid powertrain features two electric motors that give an extra Boost to the V-6 engine adding 50 HP. Fuel economy ratings are 32 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. Not only is the RX hybrid very fuel efficient, but it is also a Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h sports two systems that help in both efficiency and emissions. The Exhaust Heat Recovery system that helps with the warm up of the vehicle and Exhaust Gas Recirculation which is water cooled and reduces pumping losses. It is not just the Lexus Hybrid Drive that is responsible for the great MPG ratings. The RX hybrid features a start-stop system to increase fuel economy. The luxury hybrid can also run on battery power alone. The ECO mode monitor shows the driver how to drive in a more efficient manner. The RX hybrid sports the first Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission which is meant to keep the luxury SUV in the right gear at all time thus maximizing efficiency. The steering unit runs off electricity instead on a belt driven by the engine. The result is less strain on the engine resulting in better MPG. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h uses a regenerative braking system to power the batteries. On the outside the 3rd generation RX features a bold and exciting new design with a new bumper, headlight assembly, and new grille. Dimensions have been increased a bit and cargo room is up 5%. The real news is that the drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.33 thanks in large part to the rear wing which reduces air turbulence. On the inside the 2012 Lexus RX hybrid is all luxury and technology. The 8-inch navigation is voice activated and a heads-up display projects directions onto the windshield. Supply leather abounds and the front seats are heated and ventilated units that are power adjustable. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h is a wonderful 5-passenger luxury crossover SUV that gets incredible gas mileage. Both green and efficient, the RX hybrid is a great choice. Things like the new spindle grill design comes into play with this RX and it's looks very stylish in my opinion. Also, the steering wheel has been reworked to give it a more luxurious feel. Another new important update is that the RX can now be the RX F Sport which a features a 8-Speed Automatic and AWD and a very sporty exterior. Also The RX is a very quiet and luxurious crossover SUV. It's main rival is the Cadillac SRX. Trims: Base, F Sport, Hybrid Competitors: Cadillac SRX, Infiniti FX, BMW X3, Mercedes ML, Audi Q5 Be sure to check out my Facebook Page on all my latest news on my car reviews https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camerons-Car-Reviews/349462695066112?ref=hlv iews
