1970 Oldsmobile Toronado GT first start after a decade.
SORRY, IT HAS BEEN SOLD!!!! This is a 1970 Olds Toronado GT. It was parked about a decade ago or so and this was the first run. I had checked the fuel tank and found it had become a thick goo that nothing would run on so I added a small gas can of fuel and a new electric fuel pump and primed the carb before starting. This car has a W34 455 engine rated at 400 HP. I have been wanting to get started on the restoration for several years but a back injury has put a hold on everything and now we are moving as well and we can't take everything with us. A very cool car that needs to revived for sure. The car was prepped before starting. All fluids were changed, new spark plugs, points and condenser, new plug wires and the cap and rotor, new coolant, fuel tank was disconnected and a small fuel can with an electric fuel pump was connected, the carb was primed into the fuel bowl so it was full of fuel, and the oil system was primed and pressurized before it was started, and it had a new v-belt. The cylinders were oiled when it was shut off decades ago so the smoke you see is the preservation oil burning off.
