I also included some pix of the final install and towards the end of the video is a picture slideshow of the installation (once again) in case the video was not clear.
Replacing a BMW Daytime Running Light
If your dashboard indicator tells you a light is out it may be the Halo / DRL / Angel eye light that is burned out. It's that cool set of rings around each headlight. Mark takes you through all the steps and tricks it takes to change the light yourself if you're the kind of person that likes to save a couple hundred bucks (Canadian)

This installation requires removal of the inner wheel housing splash guards in order to access the Angel Eye bulbs. Most other BMW installations are an easy direct replacement for the original bulbs and are done from under the hood. Start by safely lifting and supporting the front of the vehicle (see our article on how to safely lift and support your BMW at - http://www.bavauto.com/newsletter/2009_n209_newsletter.pdf#page=4 Remove the front wheel and tire. Now, remove the inner wheel splash liner by removing the 8mm and 10mm fasteners and then pull the liner out. We can now remove the angel eye bulb housing cover by using a screw driver to pry the upper and lower locking tabs and pulling the cover rearward. Remove the two wiring connectors from the bulb contact terminals. Use the included T-15 Torx driver tool to loosen and remove the two Torx screws. Pull the bulb assembly rearward and out of the housing. Also remove the bulb mounting bracket. We'll now mount the new Weisslicht LED angel eye bulb assembly to the plastic mounting bracket and reinstall the assembly into the headlight housing. Install the two Torx screws and connect the two wiring connectors to the LED bulb assembly. Before we finish the installation, turn on the lights to test the new LED installation. If all is working properly, finish the install by reinstalling the bulb housing cover, inner wheel liner and the wheel and tire. You now have bright, white, LED angel eye rings that nicely match the HID (Xenon) headlight bulbs and make your BMW look more like the current models that have original LED angel eye rings. --- The products used in this video can be purchased in our online store, http://www.bavauto.com/, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. BMW MTEC Led Angel Eyes H8 Led 9W v2.0 installation comparison
http://www.retrofitlab.com/product/47/12/mtec-h8-9w-v20.html Looking for Led replacement bulbs for your BMW Angel Eyes? The MTEC H8 bulbs transform the rings inside your headlight from the yellowish halogen light, to a bright white Led light. These are the latest version, v2.0. Compared to the previous version the coating has changed from chrome to matte black for better heat dissipation. The major upgrade is that more powerfull Cree Leds are mounted, making them 20-30% brighter. The H8 Led bulbs are now 9W instead of 6W. What has remained the same compared to the first version is that they directly replace the original H8 bulbs. Drilling, trimming or cutting wires is not necessary. This retrofit is completely reversible, useful when selling your car. In addition, version 2.0 also does not interfere on the car radio or give error messages at the computer of the car. These MTEC H8 bulbs fit on the following BMW models: BMW 3 E90 LCI (with Xenon) | (2009-2011) BMW 3 E90 M3 BMW 3 E92 Coupes (2006-2010) BMW 3 E93 M3 BMW 3 E93 Cabrio (2006-2010) BMW 3 E93 M3 BMW X5 E70 (with Xenon) | (2007+) BMW X6 E71 | (2008+) BMW 1 E82 (with Xenon) | (2007+) BMW Z4 E89 Z4 | (2009+) BMW 7 F01 all years BMW 7 F02 all years Specifications Power 9 Watt Leds 4 Cree Led chips per lamp Light output 1400 - 1600 Lm Function Daytime Running Light + Position Light Color temperature 7000K (white with a bleuish tint) Material heatsink Aluminium
