1972 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO Four-Speed Muscle Car
I thought you'd like a look at this 1972 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO. It's equipped with a 455 V8 that's pumping out 300 horsepower and 415 LbFt of torque. All that power is funneled back through a four-speed manual trans to a posi rear end. This really is one of the last great cars of the muscle car era. 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty ORD #0056
For sale in our Orlando Showroom is a ferocious 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Super Duty 455. 1974 was well into its full swing of stringent mandated E.P.A. auto manufacturing guidelines. High performance was quickly replaced by economical and secure automobile manufacturing practices. Large displacement V8 muscle cars had been a memory of the not so distant past and unfortunately were being substituted by clean and efficient, personal luxury cars. One might say 1972 was the last great year for the Detroit automakers. Not for Pontiac. They strongly objected to follow the new norm and released the 1974 Firebird Trans Am, boasting the burly optioned, Super Duty 455. This powerplaint grumbles with authority with every press of the attention hungry accelerator. Producing nearly 290 net bhp, with a 4.15 x 4.21 displacement, this 4 bbl fueled over head cam V8 was not to be taken lightly, hence the original Screaming Chicken hood. One look at this red on red street thunder and you know your 1974 E.P.A. approved luxury car is about to take an after school beating right off the mark. This unyielding brute force is transferred directly by a 3 speed automatic turbo 400, then hitting the pavement via its 10 bolt GM posi-traction rear end. Yes, there’s no question why Car and Drive called this Red Thunder “The Last of the Fast Ones” as this true survivor, struts the name like a king. Exterior options include: factory correct Buccaneer Red paint, rally wheels, original front and rear wheel spats, functional shaker hood scoop. Interior options include: power windows, insignia Firebird floor mats. Rumbling the streets and local shows in this 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD 455 won’t get you the respect you deserve, it will take it. Located only in our Orlando Showroom, this phenomenal 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD 455 can be seen including HD pictures and video exclusively at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, or call today for additional information. 1-407-771-2000.
