1967 Pontiac Firebird 400
1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 - Tribute The Firebird line from Pontiac spanned many years and was still being built even up until 2002. The premier year was 1967 which makes this very clean 1967 Firebird 400 Tribute just that much more desirable. This classic began its life as a 326 cubic inch Butternut Yellow factory A/C Firebird. The original owner had the car for many years and sold it in the late 90's to the second owner. He built and installed the 400 engine around 2005 and then sold it to the third owner. The third owner completed the paint/body work and painted the car Aqua Marine before selling it to the 4th and current owner in 2006. The current owner finished out the car and beautifully transformed it into a Firebird 400 tribute in almost every way. There are only two features on this car that have not been added which would complete the transformation which are a drivers side traction bar and positraction rear end. Only a true Pontiac enthusiast would be able to detect that this car is not a real deal factory 400. The restoration on the car is approximately 10 years old but it has been extremely well cared for. From the exterior to the drivetrain, everything was done right and everything still has that fresh look. Engine: Built in 2005 Block: 1969 WT coded block with 80 PSI oil pump and wind-age tray (from 1969 GTO) Heads: 1976 6X-4 D port heads, 91cc Chambers 2.11/1.77 ported & milled. ARP Rocker arm studs and Magnum Roller Rockers Intake: Ceramic coated Aluminum Edelbrock Performer II Ignition: AC/Delco Distributor, Petronix Igniter Electronic Ignition and Flamethrower coil Carburetor: Holley 670 CFM Street Avenger Cam: Lunati 30706 Camshaft, 2200-6200 RPM, 270/280 Exhaust: Hooker Headers, 2.5 inch Exhaust Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, Chrome splitters Transmission: BOP turbo 350 rebuilt in 2010 by C&R Transmissions, Dallas, TX. 2200 stall converter and B&M shift kit Cooling: Be Cool Four Core Aluminum Radiator with dual electric puller fans. Thermostatically controlled to operate faithfully within 185 and 205 degrees. Fans turn on at 205 degrees and turn off at 185 degrees. A/C: Classic Auto Air conditioning Perfect Fit Series replaced the factory A/C components. Wheels: 15 inch Pontiac Rally II wheels with period correct Pontiac center caps and lug nuts wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber. 225/60-15 front, 245/60-15 rear. Rear Axle: 1967 BOP rear axle. XD coded, 2.93 gears, open axle Audio: Custom auto Sound AM/FM Cassette Stereo (Original AM Radio come with car) Odometer: The Odometer reads approximately 40,000 which based upon what is known of the car, it is most likely 140,000. Approximately 9,000 miles have been put on the car since 2006. Brakes: Manual drum brakes completely rebuilt. Approximately 8,000 miles ago Suspension: Front - Stock Monroe shocks. Rear – Monroe Air shocks Interior: Standard black vinyl. Believed to be original. Small tear in headliner.
