BMW M5 vs Holden HRV GTS-R - With Richard Hammond
Richard Hammond pits two cars that are considered 'super saloons' - the BMW
M5 and the and Holden HRV GTS-R, see's which one of these can come out on
top. He test both cars for their performance and handling, as well as
seeing how practical and comfortable they are.
40psi boost Nissan RB30 ~ BT-1 turbo Commodore
Bill's Holden Commodore VL BT-1 turbo
getting a hard workout on the Dyno. The car features a high
output 3L Nissan RB30 SOHC forged engine by Loui's Performance Services.
Goodies include a Garrett GTX42R turbo,
Loui's plenum, MicroTech E98 ethanol fuel system, ICE Ignition system with
power being driven through a Powerglide 2-speed transmission. The car has
previously run 9.3 at over 150mph with less power. Dyno tuned at CK Automotive,
EDIT: Since this video was taken Bill's car has run 8.9 @ 160mph.

JETV6 Holden Commodore
Jim's turbocharged V6 Commodore proves
you don't need an LS1 to go fast. The car has run well into the 9s
previously but this time out Jim raced the car in full street trim on
98-octane. Powered by a 4.2L stroker engine, Boost comes from a Garrett turbo and Delco EFI.

great to see the guys get some first full passes in. The VT based 3.8L is

turbo and considering the guys are only
at 15psi Boost there is certainly a
lot more to come from this car.
