This has a 5.0L V8 making 385 HP while paired to a 6 Speed Auto.
This is what replaced the S-Type Jaguar. Uses the same platform but the car is quite different overall. Engine sounded OK and the interior is a Step up over the older model.
Not in love with the Dial Shifter.

Jaguar C-X16 Launch Film 2012
C-X16 PRODUCTION CONCEPT REDEFINES JAGUAR SPORTS CARS
■C-X16 is a bold statement of Jaguar's future design and technological intent
■A compact, rear-wheel drive, two-seater, with a true sporting character, underpinned by immensely strong aluminium architecture - perfect 50:50 weight distribution
■Powered by an innovative supercharged 3.0-litre V6 producing 380 PS (280 kW) and 332 lb ft (450 Nm) of torque
■Hybrid system controlled by a steering-wheel mounted 'Push to Pass' button Boosts output by 70 kW and 235 Nm
■Top speed of 186 mph, 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and 50-75 mph acceleration in 2.1 seconds with CO2 emissions of 165 g/km
Jaguar has released details of the C-X16 concept ahead of its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Looking firmly to the future, the C-X16 marks a new chapter for Jaguar. The two-seater concept has inspired new advances in design, in engineering and in vehicle technology to create the most compact and responsive Jaguar in a generation. A hybrid, the C-X16 combines searing performance with beautifully realised styling.
Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars:"The C-X16 embodies the established Jaguar strengths of sensual design, animal-like agility and inspirational performance and combines these with attributes that set us on a course to create sustainable sports cars of the future."
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar Cars:"Jaguars have always been dramatically different. With the C-X16 we have moved the current award-winning design language on to the next generation, creating a car that is the very essence of future Jaguar performance."
Under the muscular clamshell bonnet is a next-generation supercharged V6 petrol engine producing 380 PS (280kW) and 332 lb ft (450 Nm) of torque. Already boasting a high specific power output of 126 PS-per-litre, the performance of the C-X16 is further supplemented by a Formula 1-inspired hybrid Boost system with a steering-wheel mounted button for on-demand acceleration.
Integrated into the eight-speed gearbox is a motor generator which draws power from a 1.6kWh battery pack mounted behind the seats for ideal 50:50 weight distribution. Charged through a brake energy regeneration system, the batteries allow the motor to provide an additional 95 PS (70 kW) and173 lb ft (235 Nm).
Mounted in an aluminium chassis structure, the result is 0-62 mph acceleration in 4.4 seconds, a top speed of 186 mph and acceleration from 50-75 mph of 2.1 seconds. The C-X16 is also able to travel at speeds of up to 50 mph under electric power alone and has CO2 emissions of 165 g/km.
The C-X16 measures 4,445 mm in length, 2,048 mm in width and 1,297 mm in height and has a wheelbase measuring 2,622 mm. In terms of overall length, the C-X16 is the smallest Jaguar created since 1954 and the XK120.
The C-X16 will be presented at the Jaguar Land Rover press conference in Hall Five at the Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday September 13 at 09:15 CET.
Energy Recovery
The C-X16 extends the Stop/Start system's functionality by linking it to a transmission-integrated motor generator mounted as one unit with the gearbox. This draws power from a 1.6kWh
lithium-ion battery pack mounted behind the seats for perfect weight distribution.
As in the most demanding motorsport environment, Jaguar employs a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). The battery pack is predominantly charged through a rear axle electro-hydraulic brake energy regeneration system.
Performance on demand
A dashboard display graphic indicates when the additional Boost provided by the electric motor can be deployed. When charged, a 'Push to Pass' Boost button mounted on the steering wheel allows access to an additional 70kW and 235Nm of torque (equivalent to 95PS and 173lb ft) for up to 10 seconds. Because of the lag-free nature of an electric motor, this power is instantaneously available. The battery is constantly and automatically recharged, the entire system overseen by a Hybrid Vehicle Supervisory Controller.
Both the battery pack and electric motor mounted in the C-X16 are liquid cooled preventing them losing performance as heat builds up during spirited use. To cool the battery the advanced electronics draw chilled coolant from the climate-control system, the compressor for which is itself electrical rather than engine-driven to reduce losses. The hybrid system is placed within the wheelbase of the car to aid weight distribution and maximise agility by reducing the polar moment of inertia.
SUPERCHARGED V6
The front-mounted supercharged V6 engine develops 380PS (280kW) and 332lb ft (450Nm) of torque from a capacity of 3.0-litres. A modular development of the award-winning Jaguar AJ-V8, the all-new powerplant points the way to the next generation of highly efficient, powerful, petrol-fuelled internal combustion engines.

Heil DuraPack 7000: City of St. Petersburg Sanitation
St. Pete runs a fleet best described as kick ass, nothing but glorious DuraPack 7000s mated to Autocars, save for a handful of Pete 320s. Combine this with the fact that St. Pete has a healthy network of alleys littered with 300 gallon bins (more on those later) and you begin to understand why I'm so excited about the city's sanitation department. Trucks aside St. Petersburg is a cool place so I was happy to make the drive 3 separate times to get this footage, mostly in the Old Northeast section of the city. The astute viewer will notice 4 different trucks are featured. I have footage of a 5th already posted as part of Garbage Trucks Part IV.
St. Pete was on of the first cities to automate collection in the late 70s and and naturally was a pioneer in the practice. The design for all the carts used is owned by the city of St. Petersburg itself, and licensed out to cart manufacturers. To handle these carts the trucks are equipped with Heil's universal grabber which easily takes care of the wide range of cart sizes, from 60s all the way to the massive 300 gallon alley bins, without ever having to change grippers.
Naturally all isn't perfect in St. Petersburg. The city's recycling collection is pretty lame. While this was being filmed WSI had the contract to collect from the bins seen in some shots, now Waste Pro does. On the last of my filming trips I spotted a Waste Pro GS Recycler running through the streets, no doubt in preparation to take over the routes. I'm sure that once the city decides to start collecting recyclables itself with full size bins participation rates and volumes will increase. It would be incredibly awesome to see some blue versions of these carts (especially the 300s) being collected by the city's own trucks.
Anyway, thanks to the awesome drivers. All very friendly and professional, not to mention pros at moving those trucks around in the alleys. Filmed August 2012.
