1978 Trans Am Bandit Edition - Restoration
This is a movie about a '78 Trans Am that my daddy has owned since the early 80's. He restored it a few years back and it looks like new. There has been many times where he worked night and day on this car...countless hours. My dad has always worked hard and never "half done" anything. He unfortunately suffered a stroke a couple of years ago and is unable to use his left hand. It's a long road but we are all confident that he will get better. I love you daddy!

This extremely rare 1978 Gold Special Edition Trans Am is an all original investment grade pony car that combines enduring Pontiac performance with some of the best visual sizzle to ever come out of Detroit.
Assembled at GM's Norwood Ohio manufacturing facility in July of 1978, this gold Trans Am was taken right up the road to Brown Motor Sales in Toledo Ohio and promptly sold to Pamela Kudelka who has owned it for almost 34 years. The car has been immaculately maintained and features an original coat of GM code 50 Solar Gold paint on top of 100% original body panels that have never been wrinkled or repaired. Since the car has never been disassembled, it still displays completely factory accurate panel gaps that look surprisingly good and provide great panel alignment. On top of the spectacular Solar Gold paint, a set of full outlining stripes complements an awesome brown, yellow and gold screaming chicken hood decal which amps the cars visual appeal up from 'radical' to 'out of this world'.
Under the hood you'll find this Trans Ams all original L78 V8 which, at 400 cubic inches was the largest muscle car engine you could buy in 1978. At the top of that motor, an original Rochester 4 barrel carburetor sits under the cars awesome shaker scoop. Below that carburetor, original GM corporate blue paint coats the entire block and original Exhaust manifolds send Exhaust into a high performance factory Exhaust system. All the hard parts around the motor, from the belt driven accessories to the brake Booster and air conditioning hanging on the fire wall are factory original; and as expected tags, markings and stamps are just where they should be from the date coded core support to the gold painted cowl tag.
Underneath this Trans Am, a super solid 33 year old undercarriage tells the story of years of excellent maintenance and treatment with rock solid floor pans that still display most of their factory undercoating. Behind the motor, an original 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to an original code GM8 Posi-traction rear axle that's loaded with street friendly 2.56 gears. The cars original suspension, which includes Trans Am spec sway bars, shocks and springs combines with power front disc brakes and rear drums to provide great stopping and handling. All of the cars hardware and bushings appear to be in good shape and out back, a new stainless fuel tank is solid and leak free. Power flows to the pavement through fresh 225/70 Firestone Firehawk radials that are wrapped around the cars original Special Edition exclusive 15 inch cast aluminum wheels.
Inside the car you'll find a stylish blend of original Camel Tan upholstery and Special Edition Trans Am exclusive gold trim. The cars original seats are comfortably firm and, carrying vinyl that is thicker than typical pony car attire, look like they should be in a much more modern, much more expensive car. Below the seats, tan carpet shows minimal wear and tear considering it's been through 33 years of Ohio winters and has likely been carefully protected by the cars rubber floor mats the whole time. Between the seats a simple Camel Tan console houses a storage bin behind the cars automatic shifter, and above the seats, a stain free headliner is stretched tight around the cars mirrored tops. In front of the driver, an excellent looking engine turned dash houses crystal clear gauges above controls for heat and air conditioning and the cars never removed Delco-GM stereo. At the sides of the seats, thick Camel Tan door panels feature bright stainless trim and chrome handles for the doors handles and windows. Connecting the driver to the road is a correct gold steering wheel with a Camel Tan rim and a correct gold screaming chicken horn button.
Take it to the Pontiac Nationals or drive it to work when the weather is nice, either way, you can't go wrong with this Trans Am!
