How to completely drain GM LT1 engine coolant
Due to it's unique reverse-flow cooling system, some people can be
intimidated when it comes to proper cooling system maintenance on GM 5.7L
LT1 and 4.3L L99 engines.
In this video I show how to completely drain the engine block of coolant
on these engines. Merely draining the radiator leaves 60% of the old
coolant in the block, and also does not facilitate being able to run fresh
water through the cooling passages to remove sediment and rust.
Follow along as we do the process on our subject vehicle, a 1994 Chevrolet
Caprice with 259,000 miles.Enjoy!

The classic 350/290 HP Chevy V8 is available from Chevy Performance in an
economical long-block configuration, without intake manifold, or as a
deluxe engine package, including chrome valve covers, front timing cover
and air cleaner. This all-new engine features a smooth hydraulic flat
tappet cam and durable aluminum pistons that deliver an impressive 290 horsepower. The
four-bolt iron block is a great alternative to rebuilding your tired
two-bolt engine, delivering great street performance on regular pump gas.
The performance nodular iron cam in the 290 hp has a 450 lift on the intake
and 460 lift on the Exhaust, with
duration at 222 degrees on both the intake and the Exhaust.
