1968 Pontiac Lemans project
I traded my red 1961 F100 for this car in December. I liked the truck but it was so difficult to drive. No power steering, brakes, or A/C. So here I have a very cool cruiser. Leaving it mostly stock, no loud mufflers or go fast bolt ons except for the HEI ignition and Edelbrock intake and carburator.

1963 Pontiac LeMans Rare 4 Cylinder Four Barrel Four-speed 3.73 Posi - Half of a 389 V8
I thought you might like a look at this very unique 1963 Pontiac LeMans. It's powered by a 194.5 Cubic Inch 45 Degree Four Cylinder, topped with a 4 BBL Carb, and running through dual Exhaust. Pontiac, basically cut a 389 V8 in half...in fact, it uses the same head as the 389 and the 421. In this case, the four cylinder is backed by a four-speed manual and a set of 3.73 Gears with Posi. As you can see, it really is a great looking car and would look right at home on the dragstrip in the 1960's. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look! Pontiac Banshee A Longer Look
The Banshee was a vision for what the Firebird could become. Of course, this concept car could never be built exactly, too low on the road and it wouldn't pass the safety and crash tests, but it was exciting. It demonstrated that the problem with GM cars didn't sit on the designers' shoulders. They were more than capable of dreaming up engaging and fun vehicles that would set imaginations on fire.

PONTIAC - stock Pontiac Super Duty 421v8/405hp vs stock Chevy 409v8/409hp on DYNO
WATCH THE VID TO SEE HOW CLOSE THEY Dyno TO THEIR FACTORY 405hp/409hp ratings. Growing up.....Pontiac/Oldsmobile old timers/EXPERTS who taught me most of what I know, often told me Chevy rated their horsepower in a more optimistic way than say Oldsmobile or Pontiac. I've even heard Pontiac rated/tested their engines in a 100 degree room, compared to Chevy in a 60 degree room. These Dyno results seem to reflect that some of what I heard was true. Both of these engines are great, but the results do seem to show that Pontiac was not rating their horsepower worrying if it would cause "songs to be written" about their engines .... like the great song "She's real fine my 409"--(Chevy).
