Based on the 1984 Audi Sports Quattro, the Audi Quattro Coupe is a light weight concept car that uses the foundation of the RS5. It's powered by a 5-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 408 horsepower. The body is made out of Aluminum and the hood, doors and other components are made out of carbon fiber, weighing 2,866 pounds (1,300 kg). Audi RS3 voix off Enfin ! Elle est là. Depuis le temps qu'on l'attendait, voici l'Audi RS3. Encore plus énervée que la S3 et ses 265 ch, la RS3 en a 340 sous le capot, tirés du même 5 cylindres turbo que le TTRS. Extérieurement, la RS3 se reconnaît grâce aux sigles disposés à l'avant, à l'arrière et sur les étriers de freins avant. On la reconnaît également à la calandre en nid d'abeilles et aux prises d'air plus importantes en bas du bouclier avant. Les roues de 19 pouces sont de série et le becquet arrière est plus important. A l'arrière, le diffuseur saute aux yeux, avec la double sortie d'échappement en ellipse. A l'intérieur, plusieurs logo RS3 parsèment l'habitacle. On en trouve sur les seuils de porte, les sièges, le compte-tours, le levier de vitesses et le volant. Et puis il y a un étrange bouton S sur la console centrale...A part ça, la planche de bord reste de qualité très flatteuse, et cette RS3, en bonne compacte, accueille aussi 3 passagers à l'arrière et dispose même d'un coffre généreux. Une gentille familiale, quoi... Contact, et le 5 cylindre s'ébroue, plutôt discret. Il s'agit donc du même moteur que le TTRS, à injection directe d'essence et turbo. Mais sa douce voix se transforme en feulement inquiétant dès que vous appuyez sur le fameux bouton S. Après quelques kilomètres tranquilles, nous décidons d'utiliser le système launch control. On appuie à fond sur le frein et l'accélérateur en même temps : le moteur monte à 4000 tr/min, pas plus. Vous pouvez alors lâcher le frein. Et pan ! Un gros coup de pied vous arrache à l'immobilité avec violence. La boîte S-Tronic à double-embrayage, fournie d'office sur cette RS3, prend ensuite le relais. Elle passe les rapports en un clignement de paupière et vous voilà à 100 km/h en 4,6 s seulement, soit le même chiffre que la RS5 et ses 450 ch. Au passage, le Quattro permet de ne rien perdre en motricité. Premier virage, c'est l'occasion de se rendre compte que la tenue de route est efficace, le contraire eût été étonnant, le châssis sport surbaissé de 25 mm prenant ici tout son intérêt. Peu de roulis ou d'inertie au programme, et une agilité remarquable. Les virages sont passés très rapidement, le tout avec une facilité déconcertante. Les enchaînements sont un plaisir et l'excellent 5 cylindres s'en donne à cœur joie. Même le freinage est à la hauteur. Petite gâterie au passage : un mode spécial vous permet d'afficher au tableau de bord la pression du turbo, la température d'huile, et des temps chrono. Bon, vous l'avez compris, il s'agit d'une vraie bonne sportive, efficace et facile. On ne peut pas lui reprocher grand-chose, si ce n'est un confort très ferme ou quelques hésitations de la boîte en conduite tranquille. Le prix : 55 400 €, tarif unique puisqu'il n'y a qu'une version, celle-ci, en Sportback, c'est-à-dire en 5 portes. A titre de comparaison, la prochaine BMW Série1 M débute à 53 400 €, mais avec deux roues motrices et deux portes seulement...
