Zakspeed Ford Turbo Capri
Zakspeed Ford turbo Capri beim AvD Oldtimer GP 2012 auf dem Nürburgring. Peter Zakowski fährt das Original Meisterschaftsauto von 1981, mit dem Klaus Ludwig damals gewann.
Das Fahrzeug ist mit dem kleinen Motor der Division 2 bestückt mit 1,4l Hubraum.
In beiden Rennen sah Zakowski die Zielflagge wegen technischer Probleme nicht. Im Rennen 1 bedrängt er Oliver Mathai im Porsche 935 und im Rennen 2 räumt er binnen kürzester Zeit das Feld von hinten auf.
Sowohl nach dem Training als auch nach dem ersten Rennen wurde am Fahrzeug umfangreich gearbeitet. Der Ladedruck ist noch nicht eingestellt und deshalb hat P.Zakowski die Hand häufiger mal am "Dampfrad".
Vom turbo Capri wurden insgesamt fünf Fahrzeuge gebaut. Ein Fahrzeug wurde zerstört, eines zu einem Mustang umgebaut, ein Fahrzeug wurde von Herbert Stenger bei Bergrennen eingesetzt, ein Fahrzeug baut Stefan Mücke in Berlin wieder auf und hier eben das 1981er Meisterschaftsauto bei Zakspeed.

My #34 qualified 3rd on grid but due to a catastrophic start I was not better then 14 at the first bend. Fortunately I was able to gain ground and finish 4th.
Performance Car Mania 2011
Performance Car Mania is quickly becoming the premiere modified car event in Victoria, and it's not hard to see why. The organisers set everything up to maximise the fun for the entrants. And if the entrants are happy then the spectators are as well, because they get to see some of the coolest cars around cutting loose. The new quarter mile strip was an interesting addition and although it was a tad bumpy in places it made for some interesting racing.
We've squeezed as much action as we could into a reasonable time frame, but keep your eyes open for planty more vids from this event in the near future.

This is some more in car video of the ford Capri 3.0l essex v6 in action and towards the end you'll some pictures of the restoration. This was our very first project and took a couple of years to complete and we learned a lot since then. Despite the fact we were still learning the end result was fantastic and the paint job has no fish eyes or marks.
We have moved on since them pictures and now have our own proper workshop in which we have already completed another project a 1973 Classic Mini Clubman with 1998 rover cooper sport 1.3 mpi engine ( SUBSCRIBE now to see more videos on that )
And our current project is a ford fiesta xr2 race car ( Has a nice story behind it ), which we have just started, we plan on recording our progress so you guys can experience all the pro's and cons of building a race car with us :D
