However, in two important ways they compete: 1) Price and 2) the Fun to drive factor. In fact, we would not be surprised if drivers crossed shopped the two very different cars. Which of course begs the question....which one is better? In this video review we mashup the established American Icon with the much heralded Japanese new comer to decide which car is the better?

Dyno test: 2013 Ford Mustang at 1 mile above sea level
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 V6 Ford Mustang is rated by the factory at producing 305 Hp and Torque: 280 ft-lbs. @ 4250 rpm from its 3.7 Liter engine. At Sea Level it will accelerate from 0-60 MPH in about 5.5 seconds. But when we tested the car at about one mile above sea level in Denver we got a 0-60 MPH time of 7.4 seconds. To find out why there's such a significant difference between the two times we put the new 2013 3.7L V6 Mustang on a Dyno and did a Dyno test to determine the real horsepower at the rear wheels. Check out this video to find out why car are so much slower at high altitudes than at sea level.





2013 Ford Mustang Preview: New nose, wheels & tail lights revealed

First and foremost the new 2013 Mustang gets a nose job with a much more more-prominent grille, new rocker panels and the revised signature sequential tail lamps get LED light "ropes," that now surround them. Viewed from the back at night, the new Mustang looks like something right out of the movie Tron. While under the hood the V6 stays the same still putting out 305 HP but now you can shift it yourself with a button on the stick-shift lever. Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF The Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 are all essentially the same car and together they are probably one of the most misunderstood sports cars sold in America. Misunderstood you ask? Why yes. Many assume that the sexy coupé is rocket ship fast. It's not. Many assume the svelte 2-door grips the road like it has claws. It doesn't. Many have heard rumours that it wears Toyota Prius tires. It kinda-sorta does. What most people don't know however is that these traits combine to create one of the purest, most enjoyable and certainly most affordable rear wheel drive sports cars in America. In the same tradition as a classic lightweight English sports car, the 2+2 Scion FR-S' raison d'être isn't to eat Ford Mustangs for breakfast, it's mission is to be the best balanced track car. And it succeeds. The 200HP and 151 lb-ft of torque are unquestionably low for our modern era where even a Camry cranks out more power, but the power is perfectly balanced to the car's weight AND grip. The low-rolling resistance tires allow the FR-S to get just the right amount of tail-happy on a small track and the manual transmission is perfectly suited to an autocross style event. Sure, putting the FR-S on a larger track like Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca reveals the FR-S is out-gunned by plenty of rivals, but doing so also misses the point. I like to think of the Scion/Toyota/Subaru as baby's first track car, the kind of car you can use to hone your driving skills before moving up to a more-powerful, faster and deadlier vehicle. The key to loving this low-slung 2+2 is to understand what it is, and most importantly: what it isn't.
