Honestly!!! typical Myth Buster BS. They used some trick video editing to try and cover up the fact they used a rolling start on a drag strip. (I've never heard of rolling start drag racing) EVs are unbeatable off a standing start so to rig the race, the myth BSers specified a rolling start. Wrightspeed X1 vs. Lamborghini Gallardo and NASCAR
Filmed at Altamont Motorsports Park on Jan 23, 2007. Shows the Wrightspeed X1 prototype electric car against a Gallardo (520hp, AWD) and a Nascar. Standing start and a couple of laps. Lambo gets off the line well, but the clutch smells really hot after just a few starts. NASCAR is not set up for standing starts but goes well once it's up to speed. X1 is quite happy with standing starts, it's not hard on the car at all. Max lateral g was 1.41, on Hoosier A6 tires. Max speed was a little under 100mph. It's a half mile oval.
