How Much Are the Right Polishes & Compounds Worth?
How about $300K? Don't believe us. We worked on a special project in our
Smart Detailing University inside our trailing center. A long time client
of ours personally asked us to prepare his brand new vehicle he had just
purchased for an event he was planning to attend. The vehicle our client
had just purchased was a 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost in a beautiful color called
diamond black metallic. The client was very concerned about the car because
it was only 3 weeks old with only 500 miles on the clock, yet the entire
vehicle was covered in light wash marring and holograms caused by an
inexperienced detailer using a wool pad on this brand new Ghost.
After a few words with the client and a couple small test spots on the
vehicle, we decided to correct the paint using the V36 Optical Cutting
Polish teamed with a green Hex Logic pad on a Flex 3403 and a Porter Cable
7424XP. The V36 has just enough cut to where we were able to remove all the
wash marring and holograms with only one pass per panel while still being
able to finish down flawlessly, ready to be topped with a wax or sealant.
Being able to fully correct a car with one pad and one product makes paint
correction so much faster and
easier for the operator. On the softer jet black B-pillars, we were able to
use the V38 Optical Final Polish with a black Hex Logic pad to achieve a
flawless, defect-free surface that simply looked amazing.
The best part of V36 and V38 was how easy they are to work with for the
user. The optical grade polishes have a very long work time so you can keep
working the polish for perfect correction of the paint surface. Another
unique feature is that the polishes had zero dust residue. Unlike other
polishes that sling dust powder everywhere as the polish begins to break
down, V36 and V38 both have no dusting effects as the polish works into the
surface. Zero dust from polishing means you don't have to do back over the
car cleaning up dust residue on the surface from inside the cracks and
crevices. You can go straight from polishing to waxing and final wipe down
without spending extra time cleaning up the mess from polishing.

Taurus SHO vs Firebird V6
Update : SHO best time as of last season is 15.07 @ 96.4 MPH.
1995 Taurus SHO 5 speeds against a 1996 Firebird 3.8L automatic. Both were
stock and firebird's transmission was giving up.
SHO vs TL Type S
Taurus SHO vs 2002 TL Type S Acura. SHO is bone stock with 155,000 miles
and the Acura has just a Cold Air intake.
Ford Taurus SHO vs Ford Mustang GT
Two of the greatest cars I've ever owned. My 1990 Ford Taurus SHO, highly
modified, up against my 2005 Ford Mustang GT, bone stock. Both are five
speed manuals. Mustang had
300HP stock (factory crankpower spec). Taurus had roughly 254HP modified
calculation based on Dynoplot). I had decided to trim
my fleet a bit and list the SHO for sale, $3,000/OBO. After the testdrive
here, the buyer said "no negotiations necessary, I'll give you full asking

2013 Ford Taurus SHO Road Test
Can you drift a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO like Nascar racer Carl Edwards does in
the commercial? I tried and couldn't. This press car didn't have the ESC
button in the center console to disable the stability management system so
try as I might, the car would never get sideways.
I did however find out how great this car is at being a world class sedan.
Around town and in the canyons, this 4400 pound vehicle feels flat out
It's also pretty fast, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds will get your attention and the
immensely capable all wheel drive system, huge brakes and fantastic
suspension will keep it.
I'll go on record for loving the eco-Boost engine platform. The 3.5L Twin turbo V6 is only mildly laggy at the low end but
more than makes up for that once it starts to rev. The practical side is
that you could use all 365 horsepower in this car and
still manage fuel mileage in the mid 20's and then on the highway settle in
at about 30 MPG.
Would I own one, heck yes...as long as it had that ESC button in the center
console to disable the stability management systems so that I could four
wheel drift the tires off the thing.
